Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been honoured as the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ for FY 2025-26 by the Mumbai Port Authority, recognising the company’s export performance and its contribution to establishing India as a global automotive manufacturing hub.

The recognition comes after SAVWIPL exported over 40,000 vehicles through Mumbai Port during the year. The award was presented at the Business Conclave with Partners, received on behalf of SAVWIPL by Mr. Amit Madan, Vice President — Logistics Region India, and presented by Dr. M. Angamuthu, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, along with Mr. Adesh Titarmare, Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority.
This is the second time SAVWIPL has received this recognition, having also been named Top Exporter for 2023-24 by the same authority — underlining the company’s consistent growth as a leading exporter of vehicles manufactured in India. Over the years, SAVWIPL has shipped over 7,25,000 made-in-India vehicles to markets across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and North America, in line with the Government of India’s Make in India vision. Mumbai Port continues to serve as a strategic gateway for the company’s export operations, supporting its broader internationalisation strategy.

Mr. Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited, said, “Being recognised once again by the Mumbai Port Authority is a proud moment for all of us at SAVWIPL. This award is a validation of our strong export momentum and our teams’ relentless focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence across the value chain. Our manufacturing ecosystem in India has matured into a truly global export base for the Group, and we remain committed to further strengthening India’s role in our worldwide production and supply footprint.”
SAVWIPL’s export portfolio currently includes fully built units of the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, and the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia. The company is steadily expanding this portfolio to include parts and components, supporting local assembly operations in select international markets — including its recent entry into the Sri Lankan market — as it continues to strengthen India’s role in the Group’s global industrial footprint.
