
With PreSense, an advanced NVH simulator, vehicle acoustics can be experienced well before all components and assemblies are physically available. By intelligently combining CAE simulation data, measurement data, and results from binaural transfer path analyses, PreSense delivers a highly realistic and interactive acoustic vehicle simulation that brings sound and vibration to life.
PreSense enables engineers, designers, and decision-makers to evaluate vehicle acoustics at very early stages of development. This significantly shortens development cycles and reduces reliance on costly physical prototypes. Acoustic concepts can be assessed, compared, and optimised early, supporting faster, safer, and more informed decision-making throughout the development process.
The driver interacts with the simulator in the same way as in a real vehicle. An integrated driving model continuously calculates vehicle speed, engine speed(s), and load conditions, while the NVH simulator auralises the corresponding sound sources in real time. Typical sources include powertrain noise, tyre–road interaction, and wind noise, creating an authentic and immersive driving experience that closely reflects real-world conditions.
A key strength of PreSense lies in its high level of interactivity. Powertrains, components, and additional sound sources can be virtually replaced, added, or modified during the simulation. Every change is immediately audible, enabling direct comparison of variants and assessment of their acoustic impact. This intuitive approach allows meaningful acoustic evaluations without requiring in-depth NVH expertise and supports efficient collaboration across engineering, acoustics, design, and management teams.

Beyond NVH validation, PreSense also functions as an interactive sound design studio for Active Sound Design (ASD).
