The automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler will be showcasing its complete portfolio of market and future-oriented repair solutions for combustion engines, hybrid and electric vehicles at Automechanika Frankfurt from September 13 to 17, 2022. “Your business is our focus” is the tagline of the trade fair presence of Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division. That’s why the company is presenting many new products from its LuK, INA and FAG product brands at their booth and is taking a close look at the daily repair routines in garages as well as the mobility of the future. With its repair kit for e-axles, the “Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem – G”, exhibited at the fair for the first time, Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket is also among the finalists in the race for the Automechanika Innovation Award.
“Schaeffler is well prepared for the increasing repair needs of hybrid and electric vehicles and has always brought new technologies and expertise from original equipment into the independent aftermarket. Staying true to this approach is particularly evident this year – and finally again in personal contact,” explains Jens Schüler, CEO Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket. “With our smart repair solutions and digital service offerings, we help garages meet the growing challenges of e-mobility and digitalization. At the same time, we ensure that they are still able to repair traditional combustion engines in a professional way. This will enable garages to continue to provide full service to their customers.”
Market-Centric: Solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s repairs
This year, Schaeffler’s booth in the Forum at the Agora outdoor area, area A02, is structured around three areas: “Market-Centric,” “Customer-Oriented” and Future-Ready.”
“Market-Centric” focuses on the needs of our customers and includes repair solutions that garages require today and in the near future: Highlights include the LuK C0 disconnect clutch repair kit for hybrids, the second-generation INA Thermal Management Module for vehicles with automatic start/stop or hybrid drive, and the latest wheel bearing generations of the proven FAG WheelSet.
Schaeffler will also be presenting new technologies emerging from vehicle development. Visitors can take a look at the 800-volt 3in1 E-axle, the latest TriFinity wheel bearings or the intelligent mechatronic rear-wheel steering (iRWS). Sooner or later, all of these will be relevant for garages – and Schaeffler will provide the independent aftermarket with appropriate repair solutions in time. For example, the “Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem – G” – this is currently the only repair solution that allows garages to repair E-axles instead of completely replacing them. The aftermarket experts will demonstrate how this translates into reality during live presentations on a Volkswagen E-Golf at the booth.
Customer-Oriented: Schaeffler creates added value
In addition to repair solutions, support is the focus topic at the booth – especially the service brand REPXPERT, which is at the center of the “Customer-Oriented” area. REPXPERT bundles all service offerings in the aftermarket and provides support for independent garages digital and fast, but not without personal contact. The online portal currently has more than 200,000 users worldwide. REPXPERT provides the best possible support on many channels – from catalog data to parts identification and e-learning to live or remote support.
In addition, visitors can try out the Schaeffler OneCode: The QR code can be found on the LuK, INA and FAG packaging and expands the company’s digital service offering with a particularly easy-to-use solution. In just a few seconds, the garage can access information on the respective part number, check the authenticity of the product and collect REPXPERT bonus points. They simply scan the OneCode with their smartphone or tablet or enter it manually in the REPXPERT app or the online portal.
Future-Ready: Tomorrow’s sustainable mobility
Last but not least, Schaeffler is dedicating a big part of its trade fair presence to the topics of future mobility and sustainability. This is where the Schaeffler Group’s “rolling chassis” takes center stage – a space-saving, scalable vehicle architecture geared towards autonomous driving featuring drive-by-wire technology, four electric high- or low-voltage wheel hub drives, and single wheel steering. And finally, Schaeffler uses an interactive application to inform about the Group’s and the Aftermarket division’s sustainability activities.
Jens Schüler: “In the Automotive Aftermarket division, we are also looking at how we can support the Group in achieving its sustainability goals. Our solutions are already extending the service life of vehicles. We are bringing the topic of e-mobility to the aftermarket in close cooperation with our colleagues from the Automotive Technologies division – for example, with the new ‘Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem – G’ for repairing e-axles. And thanks to innovative digital tools, we only produce and ship what the market really needs and save valuable resources.”
When it comes to sustainability, the Schaeffler Group has ambitious goals. At the “Innovations4Mobility” special show, the company will present future-oriented solutions and climate-friendly mobility on September 14 at 11:30 a.m. on the stage in Hall 3.0, Booth B98.
