Ashok Leyland Partners Rosmerta Recycling to Make Vehicle Scrappage Easier for Customers

Ashok Leyland has announced a partnership with Rosmerta Recycling to provide commercial vehicle owners across India with a simpler, more organised route to scrapping end-of-life vehicles. The tie-up brings together Ashok Leyland’s nationwide dealer network and Rosmerta’s authorised vehicle recycling facilities to offer customers an end-to-end scrappage experience, including support with deregistration and other statutory paperwork.

Rosmerta Recycling operates state-of-the-art Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities across India, designed to ensure the safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible dismantling of old vehicles while maximising the recovery of materials for reuse. The partnership supports the Government of India’s Voluntary Vehicle Modernisation Program, which encourages fleet owners to replace older, more polluting vehicles with cleaner and more fuel-efficient alternatives. It also aligns with the recently announced Naya Safar Scheme, aimed at cutting transport-related emissions in the Delhi-NCR region, where the mandatory scrappage of BS-III and older commercial vehicles — estimated at around 2.07 lakh vehicles — is expected to accelerate organised recycling activity.

Customers using the partnership will benefit from competitive valuations for their old vehicles, scrappage-linked discounts on new Ashok Leyland purchases, and waivers on road tax and registration fees in line with applicable government policies.

Ms. Madhavi Deshmukh, National Sales Head at Ashok Leyland, said India has a significant population of ageing commercial vehicles, making an organised and customer-friendly scrappage ecosystem essential. She added that the partnership makes responsible vehicle disposal simpler while helping customers transition to newer, cleaner, and more efficient commercial vehicles.

Mr. Kartick Nagpal, President of the Rosmerta Group, said the partnership comes at a pivotal moment as government-backed commercial vehicle replacement initiatives are expected to significantly accelerate organised scrappage across the country. He reaffirmed Rosmerta’s commitment to scientific dismantling, maximum material recovery, and maintaining the highest environmental and regulatory standards in building a sustainable vehicle recycling ecosystem.
