MOBUS Climate Control Systems India Pvt., formerly known as Mobile Climate Control, showcased its diverse range of products at the recent Prawaas exhibition. Sunil Kumar, the Managing Director, noted that the company had evolved significantly in its five years of operation, now offering solutions ranging from 14 kW to 50 kW. “We have transformed into an Indian company with 100% ownership, and this year we are excited to introduce electric units, marking our entry into the EV bus market,” Kumar stated.
The company unveiled two new electric models designed for 9-meter and 12-meter buses, catering to city and intercity applications. Sunil emphasized the importance of understanding customer needs, saying, “We aim to support bus operators by discussing our features and the technology behind our products, which is crucial when they decide what air conditioning systems to purchase.” With a focus on word-of-mouth marketing, Kumar observed a growing customer base, stating, “We have seen many new customers this year, all coming through recommendations.”
MOBUS takes pride in its innovative technology, introducing fully brushless units across its product line, ensuring longevity and reliability. “Our brushless motors provide a lifespan of 5 to 6 years, which gives us a competitive edge,” he explained. The company is strong in the southern and western regions of India, with plans to expand further into northern and eastern markets.
The factory is designed for scalability, capable of producing up to 5,000 units annually, and is already achieving significant output, with 100 large bus units utilized monthly. He shared a success story of a long-term client: “Five years ago, we faced skepticism from a large operator regarding our brand change. Today, they are one of our biggest supporters, having witnessed the quality of our products.”
MOBUS currently operates with 31 dealers across India, strengthening its presence in both bus and truck refrigeration markets. “We are focused on direct drive products but will soon introduce self-powered units,” Sunil added. The company has set ambitious targets, aiming for 500 to 600 bus units and an additional 200 truck units this year, with plans to double production in the coming years as market demand grows.
