India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has announced one of its most significant product introductions in recent years, launching three new models across premium motorcycles and electric mobility. The company has introduced the globally acclaimed XSR155 in India, unveiled its first electric two-wheelers – the AEROX-E and EC-06 – and strengthened its popular FZ range with the new FZ-RAVE.

With this, the OEM has expanded beyond its core premium motorcycle portfolio into electric mobility, aligning with its long-term sustainability and growth strategy for India.
The highlight of the launch is the XSR155, a modern retro sport motorcycle based on Yamaha’s international XSR heritage. It blends classic styling – including a round LED headlamp, teardrop fuel tank and retro-styled LCD cluster – with modern performance. Powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation and a Deltabox frame, the motorcycle delivers 13.5 kW of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. Upside-down front forks, slipper clutch, traction control and dual-channel ABS complete the package. Yamaha is offering the motorcycle in four colours with optional Scrambler and Café Racer accessory kits. Introductory price is Rs. 1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Marking Yamaha’s formal entry into India’s EV market, the company has introduced two electric scooters. The AEROX-E, inspired by the Aerox maxi-sports scooter, targets riders who want performance and exclusivity. It features a 9.4 kW peak power motor, dual detachable 3 kWh batteries and three riding modes with a Boost function. It comes with LED lighting, navigation support via a large TFT display and Y-Connect app features. With front and rear discs and single-channel ABS, the scooter focuses on power, range and premium appeal.
The second EV, the EC-06, is designed for urban commuting and everyday use. Equipped with a 4.5 kW motor (6.7 kW peak) and a fixed 4 kWh battery, the EC-06 delivers a certified range of 160 kilometres. It offers under-seat storage of 24.5 litres, multiple ride modes, LED lighting and a built-in telematics unit for real-time data access and connectivity. Charging can be done using a normal household socket, with a full charge taking about nine hours.
Alongside these, Yamaha has added a new model to its familiar FZ family. The FZ-RAVE is aimed at young riders who want style and practicality. Featuring an aggressive design with LED projector headlamp, sculpted tank, sharp tail styling and a single-piece seat, it carries forward the FZ line’s reputation for reliability. Powered by a 149cc engine, the motorcycle offers linear acceleration and strong fuel efficiency. It gets front and rear disc brakes with ABS and is priced at Rs. 1,17,218 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said that India plays a central role in Yamaha’s global strategy. He added that the introduction of XSR155, Yamaha’s first EVs for India and the FZ-RAVE is aimed at strengthening the brand’s presence in both premium and sustainable mobility segments.
