Toyota Signs Deal With Karnataka to Build 300-Acre Tech Hub Near Bengaluru

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has signed an agreement with the Government of Karnataka to set up a large technology and manufacturing facility called the TKM Bizintel Hub at KWIN City, a planned smart township on the Doddaballapur–Dabaspet Highway north of Bengaluru.

The memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Industries Minister Mr. M.B. Patil, and senior officials from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Spread across 300 acres, the hub will focus on testing new mobility technologies, advancing digital transformation across Toyota’s operations, and deploying smarter manufacturing methods throughout its supply chain. The company said it chose India for the project because of its large and skilled engineering and software workforce.

Toyota’s Chairman, MD and CEO Mr. Masakazu Yoshimura said the hub would support the company’s push toward carbon neutrality and align with national priorities such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. “India has always been a strategically important market for Toyota to drive innovation and sustainable mobility initiatives,” he said.

The Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramaiah called Toyota a long-term partner in Karnataka’s growth and said the project would generate quality employment and strengthen the state’s standing as a technology investment destination.

KWIN City — short for Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation — is a Karnataka government initiative being developed with a focus on technology, healthcare and innovation. Toyota’s hub will be one of the anchor projects at the site. No investment figure or construction timeline was announced at the signing.
