Find out what Micah Shepard, President – Automotive Aftermarket, Asia-Pacific, Schaeffler, has to say about his company’s participation at the show and how its India biz is growing

On Presence at ACMA Automechanika

I’m really proud that Schaeffler is participating here at ACMA Automechanika in India after a few years of not having the event in the physical format. I’ve been at Automechanika Frankfurt and Shanghai and now there’s a very high excitement and buzz here in India. India is a great market to be in over the coming years and Schaeffler is really happy to be at the event this year.

On Focus Products at the Show

Schaeffler has several product brands – Luk for transmission products, FAG for chassis and INA for engine parts. We also have Schaeffler TruPower which covers products like lubricants, wipers and other consumables. One of the highlight products for us here is the serviceable clutch for commercial vehicles from LuK. With this product, customers don’t have to replace the entire clutch unit; they can just pull out the pressure plate and have double the lifetime of clutch. This is very applicable for a market like India which is quite price sensitive.

On REPXPERT

We are very happy about the kind of work being done with REPXPERT. We have two technical training vans in India, one for CVs, another for PVs. In addition, this year we are also launching our REPXPERT app which will include technical content, catalogues, training content, etc. The REPXPERT app will be a unique offering from Schaeffler and add great value for our partners and customers in the Indian market.

On Schaeffler’s India Biz

India is one of the fastest growing automotive markets globally. From a Schaeffler perspective as well, it has a similar characteristic and is a very important growth market. Schaeffler is investing into the market with respect to operations, technical service ability as well as offering new products. With the different activities we have in India, it’s going to be a great opportunity to grow over the next couple of years. Also, our recent merger with Vitesco opens up even more opportunities on the e-mobility side which will help us introduce more products in the aftermarket and have a wider range of offerings in the future.
