Royal Enfield has launched the Himalayan 440 at the inaugural Himalayan Basecamp in Ladakh, marking ten years since the original Himalayan redefined adventure motorcycling in India. Priced at ₹2,29,000 (ex-showroom, Tamil Nadu), the motorcycle is available in three colours — Sela Black, Mustang Brown, and Nelong White — with bookings open across authorised dealerships and royalenfield.com from September 4, 2026.

Mr. B. Govindarajan, Managing Director, Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO, Royal Enfield, said, “The Himalayan 440 marks a celebration of this incredible journey. Driven by the messages from our community and guided thoughtfully by authentic rider feedback, the Himalayan 440 delivers precisely what was asked for — a simple, accessible, and uncomplicated adventure tourer — the same essence that defined the OG Himalayan.”
The Himalayan 440 retains the iconic design and ergonomic rider triangle of the original, while introducing an upgraded 443cc long-stroke, single-cylinder engine producing 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm of torque, paired with a new six-speed gearbox for easier low-speed riding and more relaxed highway cruising. The half-duplex split-cradle frame, 41mm telescopic front forks with 200mm travel, and a linkage-type rear monoshock with 180mm wheel travel ensure confidence across varied terrain. A 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup, 220mm ground clearance, and a low 800mm seat height further enhance its adventure credentials.
A 300mm front disc with a two-piston floating caliper and a 240mm rear disc with switchable dual-channel ABS provide precise braking control. Practical features include a new LED headlamp, digital-analogue instrument cluster, Tripper navigation, USB Type-C charging, a 15-litre fuel tank, and enhanced top-box capability for longer expeditions.
In the past decade, the Himalayan brand — through the original and the Himalayan 450 launched in 2023 — has sold over 320,000 units globally. Initial units of the Himalayan 440 will carry an exclusive ten-year anniversary badge on the fuel tank. Royal Enfield also offers a comprehensive 7-year extended warranty and roadside assistance across its range.
