Prawaas 5.0 Concludes on a High, Marking a Decade of BOCI Leadership

Prawaas 5.0 concluded successfully after three days of exhibitions, conferences, the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 and extensive business networking, reinforcing its position as India’s premier platform for the passenger transport industry. Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), the landmark fifth edition brought together stakeholders from government, industry and the broader mobility ecosystem to collectively shape the future of passenger transport in the country.

The final day saw the visit of Shri Pravinbhai Mali, Hon’ble Transport Minister, Government of Gujarat, who toured the exhibition and interacted with exhibitors, industry representatives and transport operators. Shri Dineshbhai Makwana, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Ahmedabad, also visited the exhibition, reflecting continued support from policymakers for India’s passenger transport sector.

Prawaas 5.0 attracted 20,129 registrations and featured 227 exhibitors, 20 startups, 15 conference sessions with 120 speakers, and participation from 31 States & UTs and 11 countries. Throughout the three-day event, the exhibition served as a platform for business networking, technology showcases, product demonstrations and knowledge sharing, fostering meaningful collaboration across the industry.

The valedictory session was attended by Shri Jagdeo Singh Khalsa, Chairman, BOCI; Shri Prasanna Patwardhan, President, BOCI; Shri Alah Baksh Afzal, National Vice President, BOCI; Shri Dharmaraj D. R., General Secretary, BOCI; Shri Harsh Kotak, Treasurer, BOCI; Shri Siddiq Gandhi, Convenor, Prawaas 5.0; and Shri Jagdish Patankar, Executive Chairman, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd., the event curator. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening India’s passenger transport ecosystem through collaboration, innovation and progressive policy engagement.

Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event. The first, between Rotary International District 3080 and BOCI Naari (BOCI’s women’s wing), aims to implement the Women at the Steering Wheel initiative to promote the skilling, licensing, employment and self-ownership of women as professional drivers across India. The second, between Rotary International District 3080 and BOCI, focuses on promoting the mental well-being of drivers and their families while advancing road safety awareness.

The event also recognised outstanding exhibitors through the Exhibitor Awards, honouring organisations for innovation, excellence and their contributions to advancing passenger mobility solutions.

One of the major highlights of the event was the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026, which recognised 72 awardees through 50 BOCI Excellence Awards and 22 redBus People’s Choice Awards. The awards celebrated excellence in operational performance, innovation, sustainability, safety and customer service across India’s passenger transport industry.

Across 15 conference sessions, policymakers, transport authorities, industry leaders and operators deliberated on key priorities including electrification, policy reforms, multimodal connectivity, financing, digital transformation, road safety, tourism mobility, insurance, driver skilling and startup innovation. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaborative action in building a future-ready passenger transport ecosystem.

With the successful conclusion of its fifth edition, Prawaas 5.0 leaves behind new partnerships, fresh perspectives and a renewed commitment to advancing passenger mobility in India. As BOCI celebrates a decade of service to the industry, the event reflects the sector’s shared vision of building a safer, smarter and more sustainable passenger transport ecosystem.

Prawaas 5.0 was organised by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal, co-hosted by the Gujarat Luxury Cab Owners Association and the Gujarat Tourist Vehicles Operators Association, and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt.Ltd.
