Mercedes-Benz launches all-new CLA BEV in India from ₹59 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has strengthened its electric portfolio in India with the launch of the all-new CLA BEV, marking the debut of its next-generation Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) platform in the country. The electric luxury sedan is priced from ₹59 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries set to begin from end-April 2026.

Positioned as a born-electric model, the CLA BEV is offered in three variants—the top-spec CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’, the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, and the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’—catering to a wide spectrum of luxury EV buyers.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “The CLA BEV is the most intelligent Mercedes-Benz ever; born electric, a true range champion and a hallmark of high product substance. As Mercedes-Benz’s first next-generation BEV to debut in India, the CLA underlines our confident BEV strategy shaped by feature-rich, technology-driven products, and supported by high value-driven customer ownership experiences. Through our 9,000+ strong MB.CHARGE Public network, attractive financing solutions, guaranteed residual value and an industry-first High-Voltage Battery Report, we are already building an unmatched BEV ecosystem for our future BEV customers. The CLA BEV marks a decisive step forward, laying a strong foundation for Mercedes-Benz’s long-term BEV journey in India.”

“The new CLA BEV underlines Mercedes-Benz’s ambition to lead in ‘in-car software’ by offering a world-class BEV to Indian customers, with no comparable product in the market. The CLA is the first of the 40 product global fireworks show from Mercedes-Benz, and we are thrilled by the overwhelming customer response to the CLA in India. The pre-launch demand for the CLA BEV from existing luxury customers across markets reinforces our belief that Indian customers do not compromise on high product substance. Based on customer feedback we are launching an exclusively styled top-end CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’, and the ‘Standard Range’ CLA 200 variant, along with the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, catering to diverse customer requirements that are fast-evolving.”

At the core of the new model is Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary MB.OS operating system, which enables over-the-air updates, continuous feature enhancements and a highly personalised user experience. The MBUX Virtual Assistant further enhances usability by proactively guiding charging decisions, route planning and in-car settings based on driver behaviour.

The CLA BEV has been developed keeping in mind a new generation of tech-savvy luxury buyers who prioritise design, digital experience and brand appeal. Built on the MMA platform, the model combines electric mobility with a software-defined architecture, setting new benchmarks in the luxury BEV segment.

In terms of design, the CLA BEV introduces the next evolution of Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Sensual Purity’ philosophy. Its fastback silhouette, sculpted surfaces and distinctive GT-inspired rear profile lend it a sporty and aerodynamic stance. The front features a signature illuminated panel with 142 star-pattern elements, complemented by LED lighting with a distinctive star motif, reinforcing its visual identity.

The top-end CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’ comes equipped with a host of premium features, including a Superscreen, exclusive MANUFAKTUR paint, AMG floor mats, ambient lighting, 19-inch alloys, and an entertainment package, among others.

On the performance front, the CLA BEV leverages an 800V architecture, enabling rapid charging. The ‘Launch Edition’ and ‘Long Range’ variants can recover up to 400 km of range in just 20 minutes using a 240 kW DC fast charger, while the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ can add up to 320 km in the same duration.

The CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 792 km, while the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ delivers up to 542 km. The latter is priced from ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries commencing from June 2026.

Supporting the ownership experience is Mercedes-Benz’s MB.CHARGE Public network, which offers access to over 9,000 charging points across India, integrated within the vehicle’s navigation system for seamless route planning.

The company has also introduced an industry-first High Voltage Battery Report, providing customers with a transparent and easy-to-understand assessment of battery health, aimed at building confidence and trust in EV ownership.

Customers can opt for flexible ownership plans through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, including EMI options starting at ₹62,000 per month under the Star Agility+ programme. The vehicle is backed by an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty and a 4-year service package.
