The 10th Alandur Two Wheeler Mechanics Welfare Association Meeting took place towards the end of February at Alandur in Chennai. The event, which had UCAL as Title Sponsor, was a remarkable success where mechanics from across this region, converged to engage in insightful discussions and explore the innovative solutions, within the automotive industry. Some of the exhibitors at the event included Zoomol, Pidlite, ASK, Rolon, Wheelz Tracker, along with the Title Partner UCAL. The chief guest of the event was Bike Rider Mr. Subash Chandra Bose, fondly known as ‘Bullet Bose’.
At the heart of the event, was the unveil of the pioneering E-20 Kit (10 Parts) and E-horn (68db, 72db, 90db), which was showcased by Mr. Gyan Pandey, VP & GM, UCAL Limited, during an interactive awareness session. Alongside this, the other new products for 2 wheelers by the company such as Gas Loaded Shock Absorbers, Front Fork Inner Tubes were showcased. During their presentation, Gas Springs – Steering Kit – Water Pump for Cars were talked upon. UCAL officials mentioned that, they are open to arrange an inplant visit for the mechanics and are willing to adopt few mechanic shops on that locality.
Next session was handled by Mr. Karthick Subramaniam, Branch Manager, Pidlite. He informed that, WD-40 is widely used by the mechanics as Chain Cleaner. It is made available at 32gms, 63gms, 170gms, 420gms. He went on to reveal the new product of Pidlite, the WD-40 Contact Cleaner Spray, which is made exclusively for BS6 and Electric Vehicles. Mr. Karthick highlighted that the Silicon Sealant Paste, which is used as Engine Gasket, is made available at a single use pack of 4gms, for the convenience of mechanics.
Mr. Sudharsan representing BGauss stated that, there are 60,000 EV’s among 18 Lakh ICE operated Vehicles. He briefed on the whereabouts of this company, which is owned by RR Kabel Group. He said that the company is ready to provide incentive of 4,000 INR to the mechanics, who are responsible in bringing a new customer to them. This scheme is applicable across the 4 dealers of Bgauss, whomsoever are located at Chennai.
Mr. R. Saravanan, Senior Sales Manager of Rolon LGB briefed about the Types of chain sprockets and Timing Chains, the company is making for various segments of 2 Wheelers. Premium Products from Triumph, Kawasaki, KTM, Benelli are being catered by this company is a good move. With a factory at Vallam Vadagal, Chennai, Rolon LGB is being the OEM Supplier for Yamaha and Royal Enfileld, who are located in the nearby vicinity.
With the participation of over 300 mechanics, we had the privilege of discussing the features and benefits of the above commodities displayed, while also taking part in the unveiling of latest range of products from all the exhibitiors. The event fostered meaningful interactions and provided invaluable insights, that will undoubtedly shape the future of the offerings in the industry. Mr. Ramesh from ZOOMOL (DRS Enterprises, Chennai), gave Engine Oil Bottles to the winners, who participated and won the lucky draw campaign, which was conducted on the premises. The Range of Oils done by the company was displayed at the event.
Throughout the event, which lasted for half a day, mechanics vividly depicted the energy and enthusiasm that permeated throughout the meeting. In short, through this meet, UCAL not only highlighted their commitment to innovation, but also inspired others within the industry to do the same. It would be great to see the Tier-1 and Tier-2 supplies like UCAL, would continue their support for this type of community events and initiatives in future too.
