Rane (Madras) Completes Acquisition of Hindustan Composites’ Friction Business 

Rane (Madras) Limited (RML) has completed the acquisition of the Friction Business of Hindustan Composites Limited (HCL).

The Business Transfer Agreement for the transaction was signed on June 30, 2026. Following the completion of regulatory approvals and other closing conditions, the acquisition has now been completed.

HCL’s Friction Business will be integrated with RML’s existing Brake Components Business. The company said the integration will be carried out in phases to create operational synergies and make use of the complementary strengths of both businesses.

RML expects the acquisition to be earnings-per-share accretive from the first year, while also creating opportunities for additional revenue and operational synergies.

RML, part of the Chennai-based Rane Group, supplies automotive components to major OEMs and the aftermarket in India and overseas. Its product portfolio includes steering and suspension systems, brake components, engine components and light metal castings, serving passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, tractors, two- and three-wheelers, railways and stationary engines.
