Renault India has updated the Kwid, its popular entry-level hatchback, with a refreshed design, a simplified variant lineup, and competitive new pricing aimed at first-time car buyers. The new range is available at dealerships across India and through Renault’s online sales platform.

The updated Kwid is now offered in just two variants — Evolution and Climber — replacing what was previously a more complex range. Renault says the streamlined lineup is designed to make the buying decision easier for customers who are stepping into car ownership for the first time. Prices start at ₹4.52 lakh for the Evolution manual, going up to ₹5.60 lakh for the Climber AMT. The fully loaded Climber variant is available at ₹4.99 lakh with additional online benefits, making it an unusually strong value proposition at that price point.
The update also brings Renault’s new brand identity to the Kwid, giving the car a more contemporary look in line with the carmaker’s evolving design language globally.
Mr. Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault India, said that first-car ownership remains an important aspiration for millions of Indians, particularly as the middle class grows and a large base of two-wheeler owners looks to upgrade. He added that over 4.5 lakh customers in India have started their car ownership journey with the Kwid, and the update is aimed at building on that legacy by making the offering simpler, clearer, and more relevant to today’s buyers.
Since its launch in 2015, the Kwid has been credited with making the entry hatchback segment more aspirational, largely through its SUV-inspired design and features that went beyond basic utility. The latest update stays true to that approach while focusing on making value easier to understand and access for a new generation of first-time buyers.
