Emobi has announced that its upcoming electric two-wheeler model AKX will be powered by an advanced e-Axle EV drive unit from Musashi Seimitsu Industry, strengthening the collaboration between the two companies and supporting the development of performance-focused electric mobility solutions for the Indian market.

The AKX becomes the second model in Emobi’s portfolio to integrate Musashi’s e-Axle technology after the Kyari electric two-wheeler, which was launched in November 2025. The move marks another step in the Bengaluru-based EV start-up’s strategy to build products designed specifically for India’s evolving two-wheeler and last-mile mobility ecosystem.
Musashi said its e-Axle technology has been developed to address changing mobility requirements by combining performance, efficiency and rider comfort. The company’s proprietary technology draws on decades of expertise in two-wheeler transmission systems and adapts that knowledge to electric mobility applications.
Mr. Naoya Nishimura, Chief Executive Officer for Musashi India and Africa Region, said the company remains focused on developing next-generation mobility technologies aligned with the changing needs of electric transportation. He noted that the AKX represents another important milestone in the partnership with Emobi and added that India’s rapidly expanding EV ecosystem presents significant growth opportunities.
According to Emobi, integrating Musashi’s e-Axle technology into the AKX is expected to improve vehicle acceleration, torque delivery and overall ride performance while maintaining efficiency and reliability under real-world operating conditions.
Mr. Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder of Emobi, said the AKX has been developed keeping Indian mobility requirements at the centre of its design approach. He added that the collaboration reflects the company’s focus on creating practical and high-performance EV solutions suitable for Indian riding conditions.
The e-Axle system for electric two-wheelers is designed to deliver smoother acceleration from standstill, stronger pickup torque and enhanced acceleration performance in everyday riding scenarios. Equipped with a proprietary reduction gear mechanism, the system also aims to reduce operating noise while delivering performance characteristics comparable to internal combustion engine-powered motorcycles and scooters.
