Mercedes-Benz India has reported its highest-ever fiscal sales, retailing 19,363 units in FY 2025–26, marking a steady increase over the previous year. The strong momentum continued into the January–March 2026 quarter, with sales rising 7% year-on-year to 5,131 units, reflecting sustained demand across key segments.

The standout performer was the top-end luxury segment, which continued to power growth for the brand. Models such as the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach range, EQS SUV and AMG portfolio saw strong traction, pushing segment growth by 16% for the full fiscal and 25% in Q1 2026. Notably, this segment accounted for 27% of total sales, with waiting periods extending up to a year for flagship models like the AMG G 63.
The core segment also remained a strong pillar, with consistent demand for models like the C-Class, E-Class Long Wheelbase, GLC and GLE SUVs. The E-Class LWB retained its position as India’s highest-selling luxury car, underlining customer preference for comfort-led premium offerings.
In contrast, the entry luxury segment witnessed an 18% decline, as the market leaned towards price-driven products. However, Mercedes-Benz continues to focus on value-rich offerings, prioritising brand aspiration and product quality over aggressive volume expansion.
Electric mobility is gaining pace within the portfolio, particularly at the top end. Battery electric vehicles now account for 20% of Top-End Luxury sales, with high-end EVs recording an impressive 85% growth. The upcoming launch of the CLA BEV is expected to further strengthen the brand’s electric roadmap in India. Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz India is set to expand its retail footprint under its ‘Go to Customer’ strategy, with over 20 new luxury outlets planned across emerging and established markets. Supported by an investment of over ₹450 crore from franchise partners, the expansion will focus on enhancing customer experience through modern retail formats and advanced technologies.
Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Mercedes-Benz remains the most desirable luxury brand in India buoyed by strong customer loyalty for both our new and existing products. We are thrilled with the strong demand for our top-end luxury portfolio that set new benchmarks in the luxury segment with exclusivity and personalization. Similarly, a sustained demand for the ‘core’ segment underlines unwavering customer trust for winning products like the C-Class, LWB E-Class sedans and GLC and GLE SUVs. Our product fireworks for 2026 will continue as we introduce two new AMGs for performance enthusiasts. We are enthused by the overwhelming response to new products like GLS Maybach, the V- Class and the CLA BEV, and customers can expect more desirable products planned across segments for the remaining quarters. Mercedes-Benz will maintain a sharp focus on superior product content and customer aspirations, reinforcing our strategy of value-led growth over volume aspirations.”
