SWITCH Mobility Highlights Next-Gen Electric Municipal Vehicles at Municipalika 2026

Electric mobility is steadily becoming integral to India’s transport ecosystem as organisations seek to reduce operating costs and enhance efficiency. EVs are increasingly recognised as a key enabler in achieving global net-zero emission targets by 2030. This transition is now extending to municipal operations, where essential services such as waste collection and city cleaning demand consistent performance in challenging urban environments.

Electric vehicles are addressing these requirements by reducing fuel dependency, lowering maintenance needs, and enabling quieter operations in densely populated areas. For city administrations, this shift is transforming on-ground service delivery, supported by advancements in EV powertrains, including compact e-axles and multi-speed transmissions that improve range and reliability.

SWITCH Mobility is actively collaborating with urban bodies to accelerate the adoption of electric municipal transport. At the recently concluded Municipalika 2026 in New Delhi – India’s oldest and largest trade show on safe, smart, and sustainable cities – the company showcased its electric sanitation solutions, reinforcing its commitment to building cleaner and more efficient urban ecosystems.

SWITCH IeV3 Garbage Tipper

Engineered as an intelligent, fully factory-fitted electric solution, the SWITCH IeV3 Garbage Tipper is purpose-built for efficient and safe urban waste collection. Its closed body design, integrated wet and dry waste segregation, and customisable tipping angle enable structured disposal while improving hygiene and regulatory compliance across municipal operations.

Available in 2.5, 3, and 3.5 CuM configurations, the vehicle caters to diverse waste management requirements with consistent performance. It offers a payload capacity of up to 900 kg with the tipper and up to 1250 kg (FSD), ensuring efficient load handling while enhancing safety and operational ease.

Powered by a 25.6 kWh advanced lithium-ion battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the IeV3 delivers robust performance with a real-world range of up to 140 km – well suited for predictable urban duty cycles. Its 300V EV architecture supports fast charging of up to 80% in approximately 55 minutes, ensuring higher fleet uptime. A gradeability of up to 22% and a top speed of 70 kmph further enable reliable performance across varied urban terrains.

Designed for dense city environments, the vehicle features a compact footprint, electric power steering, and optimised ground clearance for easy maneuverability in narrow and congested areas. The dual-tone, spacious D+1 cabin enhances driver comfort, while a stable suspension setup ensures smoother operations over uneven surfaces. Integrated telematics enable real-time monitoring, improving fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.

With silent, zero-emission performance and significantly reduced maintenance requirements, the electric driveline positions the IeV3 as a future-ready alternative to conventional waste collection vehicles. Showcased at Municipalika 2026, it emerged as a key highlight at the SWITCH Mobility pavilion, drawing strong interest from municipal bodies and fleet operators.

SWITCH IeV4 Electric Road Sweeper

The SWITCH IeV4 Electric Road Sweeper represents a next-generation, fully electric solution for urban street cleaning. Designed for high-demand municipal operations, it integrates sweeping and dust control to deliver superior cleaning performance while significantly reducing airborne particulate matter.

At its core is a 6-inch vacuum suction system paired with vacuum-operated brushes, enabling continuous debris collection alongside effective dust suppression. This ensures consistent hygiene across roads, highways, airports, and high-traffic zones. Supporting this system are a 2.0 cubic metre waste tank, 500-litre water storage capacity, and a 1.5-metre dumping height, enabling efficient waste handling and faster turnaround during daily operations.

The IeV4’s compact and agile design allows seamless maneuverability in congested urban environments. Its quiet electric operation makes it ideal for use in residential and commercial areas, ensuring minimal noise disruption while maintaining productivity.

Powered by a zero-emission electric drivetrain, the vehicle delivers fully clean operations while reducing both environmental impact and operating costs. Lower maintenance requirements and consistent performance further enhance fleet efficiency, supporting municipalities in their transition to sustainable sanitation systems.

At Municipalika 2026, the IeV4 stood out as a key exhibit at the SWITCH Mobility pavilion, demonstrating how intelligent electric solutions can transform city cleaning through improved efficiency, reduced pollution, and enhanced operational safety.
