Greaves Electric Mobility Makes Nepal Entry, Launches Terrain-Ready Ampere Nexus

Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the EV arm of Greaves Cotton, has announced its international foray into Nepal through a strategic partnership with STC Auto Solution Pvt. Ltd. The company marked its entry with the launch of its flagship electric scooter, the Ampere Nexus — a model already recognised by the Asia Book of Records for conquering the 70 hairpin bends of Tamil Nadu’s Kolli Hills, one of South India’s toughest climbs.

Engineered for steep gradients, uneven terrain and extreme temperature variations, the Nexus is designed to handle Nepal’s rugged mobility landscape. Its strong torque delivery, stable chassis setup and LFP battery ensure confident uphill performance and reliable range in both high-altitude environments and dense urban traffic. The scooter has also successfully scaled Shipki La Pass at 13,200 ft, reinforcing its capability for challenging geographies.

Announcing the Nepal launch, Mr. Vikas Singh, MD & CFO of Greaves Electric Mobility, said the country’s terrain and growing EV adoption demand “safer BMS, stronger build quality and long-lasting products.” He added that premium scooters in Nepal must deliver durability, comfort and range confidence — qualities at the core of the Ampere Nexus.

The scooter features a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Nex.io, enabling full-screen navigation mirroring, real-time route guidance, call and music control, and vehicle health monitoring through the Ampere Connect Companion app.

GEM plans to expand across Nepal in the coming months, deepening its commitment to the nation’s clean mobility ambitions and offering a terrain-ready EV tailored to local riding needs.
