JK Tyre launches India’s first embedded Smart Tyres for passenger vehicles

In a landmark move for the Indian automotive industry, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. has unveiled the country’s first Embedded Smart Tyres for the passenger vehicle segment. With sensors integrated directly into the tyre structure, this innovation marks a major leap toward intelligent and connected mobility.

Developed in-house and manufactured at the company’s Banmore facility in Madhya Pradesh, the new Smart Tyres continuously monitor key safety parameters such as tyre pressure, temperature, and potential air leaks. Real-time alerts enable drivers to take timely action, improving safety, enhancing vehicle performance and contributing to fuel efficiency and longer tyre life.

Announcing the launch, Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries, said the innovation reflects the company’s commitment to advancing technology-driven mobility. “By integrating intelligence at the very core of performance, we are transforming the way India drives — making mobility smarter, safer and more sustainable. This development is a testament to JK Tyre’s unwavering focus on technological excellence and our vision to lead the future of connected mobility,” he said.

Initially offered through JK Tyre dealerships in 14–17 inch sizes, the Embedded Smart Tyres reinforce the company’s support for the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. Beyond safety, the smart architecture is designed to improve tread life and reduce environmental impact, helping fleet owners and individual consumers lower operating costs.

JK Tyre has been a pioneer in intelligent tyre solutions. Its earlier SMART Tyre system, introduced in 2019 using TREEL sensors, brought cloud-based tyre monitoring to the market and quickly gained traction with fleets and retail customers. The new embedded solution takes the concept further by integrating the intelligence within the tyre itself, eliminating external fitments.
