Every journey on the highway begins with a silent promise — to keep moving, no matter what lies ahead. Mohammad Saddam Hussain has been keeping that promise since 2011. At 32, he’s already clocked over a decade behind the wheel, guiding massive Eicher trucks across the length and breadth of India, ensuring that packages reach from Bhiwandi to Chennai, Kerala, or wherever the road demands.
He joined SSK Enterprise a year ago, drawn by the team’s respectful behaviour and the comfort of the Eicher Pro 3019 truck. SSK Enterprises provides end-to-end logistics solutions including transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery across India. “I’ve driven other models… lekin Eicher mein thakaan mehsoos nahi hoti,” he says with a calm certainty. For him, driving this model feels like gliding — the suspension, brakes, and steering offer a kind of ease that doesn’t wear him down, even after long hours.

Saddam doesn’t have a favourite route. “I’m a driver — wherever I’m asked to go, I go,” he states simply. But that doesn’t mean he’s not sharp. With over 12 years of experience, he knows the national highway system like the back of his hand. No maps — just memory, instinct, and experience.
He drives mostly early morning and throughout the day, stopping after dinner and wrapping up by midnight or soon after, stopping only at designated petrol pumps or safe hotels. “When there’s a load in the truck, it’s your full zimmedaari to deliver it safely,” he says. He never parks just anywhere — a lesson learned the hard way in an industry where even a cut seal or missing tyre means the driver is held accountable.
The goods he carries are Amazon couriers — small packages that contain big expectations. To meet timelines and ensure security, he avoids unnecessary stops and follows a tight routine. Safety is never a secondary thought. “We’ve learnt to manage without a conductor now. With new tech like reverse horns in Eicher trucks and camera memory, the job’s changed. It’s a solo act, but smarter.”
Maintenance is another non-negotiable. SSK’s trucks are serviced only in authorized Eicher 3S facilities — not by the roadside or local mechanics. “Even for small work, we don’t touch the truck ourselves,” he says. This discipline helps ensure better vehicle health — and better journeys.
Saddam’s roots lie in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He goes home once every 5–6 months. His two young sons are growing up while he is away, watching their father chase their dreams from the cabin of a truck. “Agar parivaar khush hai, toh hum bhi khush hain,” he says. The miles are long, but the purpose is clear — everything he does is for the happiness of his family. When he is home, there’s no craving for screen-time or cricket matches. He finds his peace in the laughter of his children. That’s his entertainment. His reward.
For many, truck driving is a job. For Mohammad Saddam Hussain, it’s a commitment — to safety, to dignity, and to his loved ones. He doesn’t ask for comforts or applause. All he wants is a smooth stretch of road, a reliable machine beneath him, and the chance to keep moving forward — one delivery, one destination, one dream at a time.

“Mohammad Saddam Hussain’s journey reflects the quiet strength and unwavering commitment of drivers that power India’s transport and logistics sector. Every day, millions of drivers like him take on immense responsibility, often navigating long distances under challenging conditions. At Eicher, we are proud to support our driver partners with trucks that are engineered for their needs. Every Eicher cab is designed to offer enhanced comfort, reliability, and productivity solutions that make their journey safer and more efficient.”
