Autopromotec 2025: a platform for innovation, comparison and growth in the automotive sector

The 30th edition of Autopromotec, the key appointment for the automotive aftermarket to be held from 21 to 24 May at BolognaFiere district, is promising to be a moment of great dynamism, in-depth analysis and innovation. A not-to-be-missed event that will bring together professionals, companies, institutions and researchers to explore the challenges and opportunities of an ever-evolving sector. Over the four days of the event, through meetings and debates, the future scenarios of mobility, sustainability and new technologies will be explored.

Connectivity, data access, the use of artificial intelligence, gender equity and sustainability will be discussed, exploring the industry’s innovations from the perspective of new product launches, market orientation and regulatory updates.

The official opening of Autopromotec will be attended by institutional and representative personalities from the sector, including Roberto Luongo – Counsellor for Internationalisation of the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy and Secretary General of the Leonardo Committee, Gianpiero Calzolari – President of BolognaFiere, Stefano Carloni – President of AIRP, Mauro Severi – President of AICA, Renzo Servadei – CEO of Autopromotec, Andrea Debernardis – Head of Components Groups – Car Design C Engineering ANFIA

10.30 a.m. – Futurmotive Auditorium, Service Centre: Opening Conference

The transformations of the automotive industry will be at the centre of the debate, exploring paradigm shifts in science, technology and economics. Roger Abravanel and Luca d’Agnese, will offer valuable insights into the mobility of the future, followed by Almudena Benedito Garcia, GiPA Group with the keynote entitled “Women and Skills in the Automotive Industry” and Steve Greenfield, Automotive Ventures, who will talk about “The Future of Mobility: an Investor Perspective’. All moderated by Maria Leitner, journalist for Tg2 Motori

An appointment dedicated to the international press and buyers from all over the world. Welcome by Mauro Severi – President AICA and Renzo Servadei – CEO Autopromotec and scenario speeches by Gianmarco Giorda – General Manager ANFIA, Sylvia Goetzen – General Secretary FIGIEFA and ICE – Italian Trade Agency. Afterwards, the presentation of the figures

of the 30th edition of Autopromotec, by Emanuele Vicentini, Global Branding C International Development Autopromotec.

2.00 p.m. – Gallery 21/22: The RFID ecosystem in tyres

A discussion on the importance of RFID technology for improving traceability and efficiency in the tyre life cycle, moderated by Christophe Duc – Michelin. After greetings by Renzo Servadei for Autopromotec, speeches by Riccardo Giovannotti, GDSO and representatives from Ateq, Devel, Fasep, Nexion and Regom will take the stage.

2.30 pm – Suite meeting room: SMEs AND THE CAPITAL MARKET – Financing and investors for the protagonists of Made in Italy

Access to funding represents a strategic lever for the growth of SMEs in the automotive

sector, an Italian excellence recognised and appreciated worldwide. This conference takes an in-depth look at the opportunities offered by capital markets, investment instruments and different financing models, which are fundamental for supporting innovation and strengthening the competitiveness of these realities, pillars of the Made in Italy industry.

Moderated by TGCOM24 journalist Dario Donato, two types of panel discussions will take place on stage. The first will be dedicated to the “Macroeconomic and Financial Reference Scenario” with the participation of Paolo Basso – Morgan Stanley, Fiorenzo Bellelli – Warrant, Carolina Lonetti – Simest, Marco Perocchi – Crédit Agricole Italia and Costantin Terzago, Mutares. The second round table will be dedicated to “Private Equity and Corporate Venture Capital for Business Growth” with the participation of Enrico Dente – Plug C Play Motor Valley Accellerator, Riccardo Del Bianco – UniCredit, Fabrizio Medea – Wise Equity, and Giovanni Revoltella – DBAG.

An important dialogue on the future of technical reviews and periodic inspections from a European point of view, moderated by Marcin Barankiewicz – EGEA and with the participation of Jordi Brunet – AFIBA, Pete Bradley – ASA, Frank Beaujeaun – ASA, Pascal Buekenhoudt – CITA, Lauretta Rubino – VERT, Georges Petelet – Gieg and Emiliano Pasin – AICA.

4.30 p.m. – Futurmotive Auditorium, Service Centre: GiPA 2025 Excellence Trophy

The 17th edition of the GiPA Excellence Awards represents an important opportunity to gather and reflects on the achievements of the Italian automotive aftermarket. The speakers Rosaria Amodio, Romain Gougeon and Stefano Luca Colombo of GiPA Italy will highlight the macro market trends that will drive the future of this sector, and the companies and personalities that have particularly distinguished themselves in the last three years will be awarded.

10.00 a.m. – Gallery 21/22: Circular Economy, Recycle G Remanufacturing : experiences from Europe and perspectives for Italy

A discussion on European experiences and Italian prospects concerning the circular

economy in the automotive sector, moderated by Fabio Uglietti of Ǫuattroruote Professional. The panel devoted to the European point of view will be attended by Patrick Poincelet – MOBILIANS and Marcello Colledani – APRA Europe, while the panel devoted to prospects for Italy will feature Lorella Volpato – ADA and Elena Perrotta – Assoambiente. A round table dedicated to best practices will follow with LKǪ Europe, Katell Plunet – Stellantis-SUSTAINera and Giuseppe Pedretti – Petronas

10.00 a.m. – Futurmotive Auditorium, Service Centre: IAM – International Aftermarket Meeting – CYBERSECURITY VS COMPETITION: How independent is the IAM in the future? One of the key moments of Autopromotec is the IAM International Aftermarket Meeting, where every year the leading topics that will change the paradigm of the aftermarket are given great prominence. For the 2025 edition, the focus is on cybersecurity and software defined vehicles that are becoming a reality on the roads of Europe. Is the independent repair market prepared to provide service and maintenance? The introductions will be held by Andrea Debernardis – ANFIA and Emanuele Vicentini – Autopromotec, followed by analysis by Martin Frommer, SCP Global Mobility and Giuseppe Faranda Cordella, Drivesec. Then the round table will be followed by Kim Borsting – HellaGutmann, Christoph Schön – LKǪ Europe, Massimiliano Oliveri Del Castillo – Robert Bosch, Alexander Matthey – SPREAD, and Maximilian Wegner – Roland Berger. The conference is curated and moderated by Frank Schlehuber – CLEPA.

The availability of data generated by and for vehicular mobility: a crucial issue for the

evolution of the market and the competitiveness of independent operators. This conference explores the technological, legal and economic implications of the right to OBD and RMI data, in the light of European and international policies, new business models and the state of digital integration in the sector. The moderation will be handled by Fabio Orecchini, professor at the “Guglielmo Marconi” University, director of the Auto and Mobility Observatory at Luiss Business School, journalist for the daily newspaper “La Repubblica”. On stage keynote speeches by Marcus Sacré ed Elisabeth Macher – Osborne Clarke “The enforcement of the Right of Access to OBD and RMI Data”. To follow Alessandro Salimbeni – Senior Policy Advisor Figiefa “Updates on the demands of independent service providers and the evolution of European Union legislation”, Leon Andriessen, President EGEA “Facts C Figures in the EU Market” and Bill Hanvey, President Auto Care “Facts C Figures in the US Market”.

In the panel discussion “Digital Hubs for the Automotive Value Chain” Riccardo Giovannotti – Secretary General GDSO, Frank Beaujean – General Manager Workshop-Net powered by EGEA, Roberto Nicolini – Nexion, Igino De Lotto – TEXA, Andrea Cantadori – Mahle and Vito Michele Scupola – Hella will discuss the strategic value of data, operational efficiency, interoperability, intellectual property protection and new opportunities for collaboration. Closing remarks will be made by Stefano Bonaccini, Member of the European Parliament.

2.00 pm – Gallery 21/22: The future of tyre retreading and recycling conference International event dedicated to the tyre retreading and rubber recycling sector, organised by Retreading Business, Tyre C Rubber Recicling and Valebridge Media Services, with the support of Autopromotec. The conference, presented and moderated by David Wilson – Retreading Business, will feature talks by Vittorio Marangoni – TRM – Marangoni, Stefan Mayrhofer, Frederico Schmidt – Vipal, Michael Schwämmlein – BIPAVER for the session on retreading. This will be followed by Michael Schwämmlein – BIPAVER, Anna-Maria Guth – AzuR, Giampaolo and Flavia Malatesta – MAE, Giuseppina Carnimeo – Ecopneus, Arthur Wagner – Regom for the session on tyre recovery and recycling. Then, the well-established Recircle Awards ceremony will take place. The awards will be presented by David Wilson, Retreading Business.

4.30 p.m. – Gallery 21/22: WAW! Women in the Autopromotec World

The automotive sector is changing, but the gender gap is still a challenge. With only 18% of the female workforce in Italy and an even lower percentage in decision-making roles, it is essential to create moments of awareness and discussion. This event explores the positive impact and strategic value that removing gender bias in the company can have, offering a networking opportunity, direct testimonials and an open microphone to tell success stories. An opportunity to inspire new generations and build a more inclusive and innovative future for the mobility industry. Moderated by Tg2 Motori journalist Maria Leitner, and with the event honours performed by Paola Zaccheroni – Autopromotec. Following on stage were testimonies by Stacey Miller – Auto Care, Francesca Soardi – CNA Community Services Union, and pitches from Maria Conti – Maserati Corse, Francesca Paoli – Dino Paoli, Marzia Castellani – LKǪ-RHIAG, Elena Spelta – La Gomma Viola, Monica Zanetti – Scuderia Belle Époque, and Alba Menozzi – Bologna Gomme.
