The Yamaha R15 has played a defining role in shaping India’s entry-level performance motorcycle segment. Since its debut, the model has earned a strong following among young riders for its race-inspired design, advanced technology and everyday usability. With cumulative production crossing one million units in India, the R15 stands as one of Yamaha’s most successful and influential motorcycles, reflecting both the brand’s manufacturing strength and its deep connection with Indian motorcycling culture.
At the heart of the R15 is Yamaha’s 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, paired with the company’s proprietary DiASil cylinder technology and the well-known Deltabox frame. This combination continues to deliver sharp performance, precise handling and class-leading ride dynamics. The R15 series also offers a comprehensive suite of advanced features, including traction control, assist and slipper clutch, quick shifter on select variants, upside-down front forks and linked-type monocross rear suspension, reinforcing its position as one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles in its segment.
