X-KEMA Racing Stays Ahead with Safety-Focused Brake System Engineering

At this year’s Taipei AMPA, E-Mobility Taiwan 2035, and Autotronics Taipei show, X-KEMA Racing presented its product lineup with a focus on practicality, performance, and engineering precision. Based in Taiwan, the company has built a largely international customer base through OEM/ODM partnerships, private labelling services, and a commitment to manufacturing everything locally.

“Everything we produce is designed and manufactured in Taiwan,” said Ivan Liu, of X-KEMA Racing. “We provide private labelling services and currently carry over 400 customer logos worldwide. About 99% of our business is overseas.”

Patented Innovation: The EPB Rear Big Brake Kit

Among the key products featured was X-KEMA’s patented rear Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Big Brake Kit, tailored for vehicles equipped with electronic parking systems—now common in newer models from brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

“Traditional handbrake upgrades are no longer sufficient for newer models with electronic parking systems,” he explained. “Our kit maintains that functionality while significantly boosting braking performance. It’s a complete system, not just a part.”

X-KEMA’s proprietary EPB kit showcases its engineering depth and market awareness—targeting precisely where OEMs leave gaps in performance customization.

While premium brands like Brembo and AP Racing focus on OEM contracts for high-performance vehicle lines, X-KEMA has carved its niche with small workshops, tuning shops, and regional brands.

“We’re not chasing mass-market OEM contracts,” he said. “Our focus is the aftermarket—garage shops, regional distributors, and mid-tier performance brands. That’s where we can really add value.”

This customer-centric strategy means flexibility in design, private labelling, and color customization—elements that global brands often overlook but independent garages value deeply.

Engineering Excellence from End to End

Unlike many competitors, X-KEMA oversees every step of production—from raw material sourcing and in-house assembly to serial number tracking and final QC. Their flagship Big Brake Kits (BBKs) include everything: forged aluminum calipers, 2-piece rotors, brackets, pads, and lines.

“All our parts are new—never recycled,” he emphasized. “Every caliper and rotor is serialized, and every set is tested for balance and leakage. This level of detail is our guarantee to customers.”

Their brake rotors use high-grade alloyed gray iron FC25 with T6061 aluminum rotor hats—lightweight and durable. Whether slotted, drilled, wavy, or floating, each rotor is dynamically balanced to ensure smooth performance at high speeds.

Responding to Global Shifts

While X-KEMA has been exporting for decades, post-pandemic trade patterns have opened unexpected doors. “Before COVID, we didn’t have much presence in places like South America or Africa,” he said. “Now we’re seeing customers emerge from Chile, Brazil, even South Africa. That’s a major opportunity.”

However, with opportunity comes pressure. Increased competition—especially from mainland Chinese brands—has reshaped global pricing and market dynamics. “Five years ago at SEMA, we rarely saw Chinese competitors,” he recalled. “Now they’re everywhere. It’s harder to differentiate unless you focus on quality and customer-specific solutions.”

Built for Flexibility, Not Mass Volume

X-KEMA’s strength lies not in massive output, but in customization and agility. With a 3,300 square meter facility in Taiwan, the company balances manufacturing, R&D, and engineering under one roof. “We offer painted or anodized colors, different caliper designs, even customized branding,” he said. “We’re more flexible than the giants—and that’s our edge.”

From racing air jack systems and drifting brake kits to rear rotor enlarged kits, X-KEMA’s product line serves not just performance enthusiasts but professional motorsports teams.

The Road Ahead: South Asia, Middle East, Africa

Currently, X-KEMA has no direct operations in India, but ships there through customers. However, the company sees South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America as high-potential growth zones. “We’re not set up for wholesale or agency-style distribution,” he explained. “Instead, we aim to empower existing local brands—bring them high-end products under their own labels.”

In the next five years, X-KEMA plans to deepen its engagement with emerging markets, focusing on collaboration over competition. “We want to learn more about the markets in South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America,” he said. “It’s about building relationships, not just selling parts.”

In a market saturated with flashy names and price wars, X-KEMA Racing remains anchored in its founding principles: precision, consistency, and customer focus. By delivering race-grade performance with workshop-level flexibility, the brand continues to expand quietly—but confidently—into the global stage. “We’re not trying to be the biggest,” he concluded. “But we’re trusted. And for our customers, that trust is everything.”
