Awards Skill Development

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Wins Dual Honours at Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 for Pioneering Youth Skilling

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been awarded two top honours at the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 for its outstanding contribution to skill development in India. The company received the Kaushalya Karnataka Corporate Excellence Award in Skilling (Large Industries Category) and the Kaushalya Karnataka Award for Best Institution in Skill Competitions, awarded to its flagship Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI).

The summit, organised by the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), recognised organisations driving excellence in the skilling ecosystem. The ceremony, held on November 6 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru, was attended by senior state officials including Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education & Skill Development, Ms. Shivakantamma (Kanta) Naik, Chairperson, KSDC, and Dr. E. V. Ramana Reddy, Chairman, Karnataka Skill Development Authority.

These recognitions reinforce Toyota’s philosophy of “Grow India and Grow with India” and its long-standing efforts to nurture highly skilled and globally competitive youth. At TTTI, located inside TKM’s Bidadi plant, rural students undergo a rigorous three-year residential training programme that focuses not only on technical skills but also on discipline, leadership, values, safety, and social responsibility.

Mr. G. Shankara, Executive Vice President – Finance and Administration, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are deeply honoured to receive these prestigious awards from the Government of Karnataka. Skill development is nation-building. Sixty percent of our training focuses on discipline and values, while the remaining forty percent is about refining craftsmanship — the Japanese Takumi spirit.”

Over the years, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has built a comprehensive skilling ecosystem through initiatives such as Toyota Kaushalya, Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP), and the Global Skill-Up Program for training youth in Japan. TTTI has produced over 1,400 graduates with a 100% placement record, and its trainees have won multiple accolades at the WorldSkills global competition
