Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has achieved a major landmark, crossing the 2-million production mark in its 25th year of operations in India. The milestone comes during the Group’s strongest commercial run to date, with October 2025 becoming its best-performing month since inception — reaffirming India’s importance within the global Volkswagen Group network.

A significant part of this achievement comes from the more than 500,000 vehicles built on the India-engineered MQB-A0-IN platform. Developed locally, this platform powers key models such as the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. Remarkably, the last half-million units were produced in just 3.5 years, reflecting the growing global and domestic demand for India-built vehicles.
Škoda Auto India is on its strongest trajectory ever, posting its best 10-month performance with sales more than doubling year-on-year to 61,607 units in 2025. Volkswagen India also recorded its highest-ever monthly sales for the Virtus during Diwali, maintaining over 40% share in the premium sedan segment for 40 consecutive months.
The Group’s luxury brands further strengthened its market presence. Bentley India began a new chapter with dedicated operations and new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Porsche India surpassed 4,400 customers over six years and expanded its presence to 13 sales points. Audi India celebrated multiple accomplishments — the RS Q8 was crowned Performance Car of the Year 2025, while Audi Approved: plus grew 5% between January and September. Audi also continued its leadership in EV infrastructure, adding over 6,500 charging points under Phase II of its Charge My Audi initiative.
At the super-luxury end, Lamborghini delivered its best-ever annual performance in 2024 with 113 units, marking a 10% rise over 2023. With the launch of the Temerario in India — following the Revuelto and Urus SE — Lamborghini completed its hybrid transition under its global Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Piyush Arora, CEO & Managing Director, SAVWIPL, said, “Every milestone we achieve in India reflects our strong belief in the country’s potential — not just as a market but as a driving force in global mobility. Crossing the 2-million mark is the result of consistent investment in people, technology and local capability, as well as the deep trust Indian consumers place in all our brands.”
Exports continue to be a strong pillar for the Group, with over 700,000 vehicles shipped from India to markets across Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, strengthening India’s position as an export hub under the vision of “Made in India, Driven by the World.”
SAVWIPL operates two advanced manufacturing facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, supported by nearly €600 million of investment. With strong local engineering backed by global technology, the Group is positioning India as a key hub for both domestic and international markets.
To further future-proof its business, the Group is driving organization-wide cost optimization and deeper localization across the value chain. This approach aims to make SAVWIPL stronger, more agile, and well-prepared for long-term success in India.
