Servotech, Electra EV secure patent for low-voltage EV fast-charging technology

Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., in collaboration with Electra EV, has secured a patent from the Indian Patent Office for an innovative electric vehicle charging device designed specifically for low-voltage EV platforms.

The patented technology addresses a key interoperability challenge in India’s rapidly expanding EV ecosystem by enabling fast DC charging of low-voltage electric vehicles using conventional high-voltage CCS2 charging infrastructure. This includes vehicles operating on sub-200V DC platforms and those based on GB/T Bharat DC 001 standards.

With the growing adoption of low-voltage electric vehicles across segments such as small commercial EVs and pickup vans, the demand for flexible and compatible charging solutions has increased significantly. Servotech said the newly patented device provides a practical solution by enabling safe, stable and efficient charging of low-voltage EV batteries while maintaining compatibility with widely deployed fast-charging systems.

The technology integrates advanced power management and voltage conversion capabilities to ensure safe energy transfer and optimal charging performance. By improving charger interoperability and reliability, the device is expected to support wider EV adoption, particularly in last-mile mobility and urban commercial transport segments.

Mr. Arun Handa, Chief Technology Officer at Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., said the patent strengthens the company’s innovation-led approach to EV charging technology.

“Low-voltage electric vehicles play a key role in India’s mobility ecosystem, especially in small commercial fleets. This patented device has been developed to ensure safe, efficient and reliable charging for such vehicles, helping accelerate EV adoption through improved charging compatibility,” he said.
