Scania Commercial Vehicles India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed GMMCO Limited, part of the CK Birla Group, as its authorised dealer partner for Northern, Eastern and Central India — a move that marks a major milestone in Scania’s renewed growth strategy for the Indian market. With this partnership, Scania aims to expand its regional reach, enhance customer service, and accelerate its presence across construction, mining, long-haul, and special application segments.
Under the new dealer allocation, GMMCO will handle sales, service and aftermarket support across North, East and Central India, while PPS Motors will continue to manage Scania operations in South and West India. The strategic division of territories ensures nationwide coverage, quicker response times, and a better service experience for customers.
The appointment of GMMCO signals Scania’s transition to a fully dealer-driven ecosystem in India. Scania will now focus on product planning, innovation and lead generation, whereas dealer partners will independently manage sales, service, invoicing, documentation, spare parts, demo fleets and inventory. This new model is designed to improve operational agility and customer responsiveness.
