Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), the Indian arm of the Italian Piaggio Group and a leader in small commercial vehicles, has expanded its diesel cargo three-wheeler portfolio with the launch of two new models — the Apé Xtra Bada 700 and the Apé Xtra 600. With these additions, Piaggio aims to redefine last-mile cargo mobility and strengthen its dominance in the high-growth diesel 3W segment.
The highlight of the launch is the Apé Xtra Bada 700, a category-shaping model introduced as India’s most powerful and capable diesel cargo three-wheeler. Built on an entirely new platform, the vehicle brings industry-first innovations in engine capability, deck size, cabin comfort, and payload capacity.
Apé Xtra Bada 700: Segment-Defining Performance
Powered by Piaggio’s new 700 DI diesel engine, the Apé Xtra Bada 700 delivers superior torque, stronger pulling power, and faster pickup. It introduces the first-ever 7-ft cargo deck in the category, enabling transport of longer and heavier loads. With a 750-kg payload, the highest in any diesel 3W cargo vehicle, it is tailored for small businesses, logistics operators, and high-demand urban and semi-urban applications.
Other key features include a new, spacious driver cabin, 12-inch radial tyres for stability, a 3.5-inch digital speedometer cluster, optional rear parking sensor, enhanced suspension geometry, and a robust new chassis. The vehicle also comes with a 5-year warranty, offering peace of mind and lower ownership costs.
Apé Xtra 600: Stronger Engine, Improved Productivity
Piaggio also introduced the Apé Xtra 600, featuring an all-new 600 DI diesel engine that delivers better mileage, improved load-carrying capability, and enhanced gradeability. Targeted at customers seeking reliability and higher daily earnings at an attractive price point, the Apé Xtra 600 builds on the trusted legacy of the Apé Xtra range.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Diego Graffi, Chairman & Managing Director, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, said, “The Apé Xtra Bada 700 disrupts the cargo three-wheeler category with industry-first features in engine capacity, deck size, and payload. It is designed to boost productivity and earnings for our customers. The Apé Xtra 600 further strengthens our diesel cargo portfolio with improved capabilities.
