Nippon Paint bets on DIY car care with FX10, eyes global expansion from India

Nippon Paint India has entered the fast-growing automotive aftercare space with the launch of its new FX10 range, marking a strategic expansion beyond its core coatings business. The company plans to scale the portfolio to select global markets in phases, positioning India as a key launchpad for its auto-care ambitions.

The FX10 range is designed to bridge the gap between professional detailing and do-it-yourself convenience, targeting a new generation of car owners who prefer hands-on vehicle care. With easy-to-use formulations delivering visible, showroom-like results, the portfolio aims to make premium automotive care more accessible without the need for professional intervention.

Announcing the launch, Mr. Jenender Anand, Vice President, Automotive Refinish, Nippon Paint India, said the initiative reflects a shift in consumer behaviour, where vehicle ownership increasingly goes beyond utility to personal pride. He noted that FX10 combines Japanese precision with user-friendly solutions to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

The FX10 portfolio includes 18 products spanning both interior and exterior care. These range from hydrophobic coatings and waterless wash solutions to interior protectants and surface restoration products. All offerings are lab-tested, eco-compliant and designed to deliver what the company calls a distinct “X factor” in terms of finish and performance.

Mr. Manav Narula, GM – Marketing and E-commerce, Nippon Paint India, highlighted that younger consumers are increasingly viewing their vehicles as an extension of their personality. He added that FX10 builds on the company’s deep expertise in surface technologies, extending it into automotive aftercare with simple yet effective solutions.

In line with its digital-first strategy, the FX10 range will be sold exclusively through online channels, including the company’s website and Flipkart. The launch also coincides with Nippon Paint India’s 15th anniversary, signalling a renewed focus on new-age consumer segments and categories.

Positioned under the brand philosophy “FX10. Go Beyond,” the range is aligned with changing car care habits in India, where consumers are moving away from traditional, water-intensive service models towards quick, efficient and sustainable solutions. The products are designed to enable instant shine, preventive care and water-saving maintenance, catering to everyday convenience without compromising on performance.
