MG Windsor Emerges as India’s Top-Selling EV of 2025 with Record 46,735 Units

JSW MG Motor India on Tuesday announced that the MG Windsor has become India’s No. 1 selling electric vehicle in calendar year 2025, setting a new benchmark in the country’s four-wheeler EV market. With 46,735 units sold during the year, the Windsor has achieved the highest-ever annual sales recorded by any EV model in India.

The MG Windsor’s strong performance has been driven by its appeal among family buyers, supported by generous interior space, high comfort levels, a feature-rich cabin and a refined driving experience. The model has quickly established itself as one of the most popular and awarded EVs in the country.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said the Windsor represents a modern automotive offering that has reshaped expectations in the EV segment through its practicality, advanced technology and futuristic design. He noted that the model has played a key role in accelerating EV adoption by converting hesitant buyers into EV owners and brand advocates. Mehrotra added that the company is looking to build on this momentum and make 2026 even more significant.

The strong demand for the Windsor also contributed to JSW MG Motor India closing CY2025 with 19 percent overall growth, while EV sales surged by 111 percent compared to CY2024. The company highlighted that demand for MG EVs is growing steadily not only in Tier I cities but also across non-metro and emerging markets, reflecting India’s increasing readiness for sustainable mobility.

Positioned as India’s first Intelligent CUV, the MG Windsor blends the comfort of a sedan with the versatility of an SUV. It is offered with a starting Battery-as-a-Service price of ₹9.99 lakh plus ₹3.9 per km. The EV delivers 100 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque, and is available with two battery options: a 38 kWh pack offering a range of 332 km, and a 52.9 kWh PRO variant delivering up to 449 km.

The Windsor features MG’s AeroGlide design language, aimed at moving beyond traditional vehicle segments. Inside, it offers business-class comfort with Aero Lounge seats that recline up to 135 degrees, along with a 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen on the centre console designed to enhance ease of use and overall driving experience.
