At the India Garage Show, MAK Lubricants made a significant impact with its first-time participation in Coimbatore. Vinoth Kumar, Territory Manager (Lubes) Coimbatore, shared insights about the company’s objectives and experiences at the event. “We are excited to be part of this garage show for the first time in Coimbatore. Our goal is to assess the feasibility and brand equity of our presence here,” Vinoth explained.
MAK Lubricants, known for its innovative products, showcased its latest offerings tailored for the evolving automotive market. “Our focus is primarily on the mechanic segment, as our products are designed to cater to their needs,” Vinoth noted. The company emphasized its next-generation grades, specifically developed for BS6 and future-generation vehicles. In the bike segment, they highlighted products like MAK 4T NXT, MAK 4T SCOOTECH NXT, and MAK 4T BLAZE SYNTH, which are semi-synthetic and synthetic lubricants aimed at enhancing the performance of modern bikes.
For the car segment, MAK presented MAK SUPREME SYNTH, a premium product designed for next-generation cars. “In Coimbatore and Namakkal, where the truck segment dominates, we are focusing on MAK TITANIUM, a CK-4 specification lubricant tailored for new-generation trucks,” Vinoth added. The company also introduced attractive schemes to entice new customers and demonstrate the quality of their products. “We believe that once customers experience the quality of our products, they will not only continue using them but also recommend them to others,” he said.
The response from the show has been promising, especially considering the high turnout on a holiday. “We have received numerous leads and inquiries, and we anticipate even more traffic as the show progresses,” Vinoth remarked. He highlighted the importance of the event in connecting with mechanics and other industry professionals, noting that eight mechanic associations are expected to visit the show.
Regarding current market conditions, Vinoth shared that MAK Lubricants is performing well. “Our next-generation grades are gaining traction, and we are actively engaging in promotional activities like the ‘Run Banao, Dhan Pao’ campaign,” he said. This campaign, which includes additional incentives for mechanics, has been successful in generating leads and expanding their customer base. “In Coimbatore, we have already achieved significant results with coupon scanning, becoming number three in terms of engagement,” Vinoth added.
Looking forward, MAK Lubricants is preparing for changes in the market, including the anticipated government scrap policy for vehicles older than ten years. “As the policy takes effect, we expect older generation lubricants to become obsolete. Our strategy is to focus on next-generation grades, which will be in higher demand,” Vinoth explained. The company is optimistic about the future and is positioning itself to meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
The initial days of the show saw moderate engagement, but Vinoth is encouraged by the increasing interest. “Despite a slower start, the response today has been very positive. We are receiving a lot of inquiries and are noting down leads for pan-India marketing,” he concluded.
