Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyan Launches 12th Edition, Announces 1,000 Scholarships for Truck Drivers’ Daughters

Mahindra Group’s Truck and Bus business has announced the commencement of the 12th edition of its flagship CSR initiative, Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyan, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to social inclusion and education. Under the latest edition of the programme, the company will award 1,000 scholarships of ₹10,000 each to daughters of truck drivers who have successfully passed their Class X examinations and are pursuing further studies.

Launched in 2014, Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyan was conceived to recognise and honour the determination of truck drivers who prioritise their daughters’ education despite economic and social challenges. Mahindra was among the first commercial vehicle manufacturers in India to pioneer such an initiative, specifically focused on supporting and celebrating the education of truck drivers’ daughters. Over the past 11 editions, the programme has benefited 11,029 young girls across the country.

The selection process for the current edition will be carried out through an extensive outreach programme covering more than 75 transport hubs across India. Mahindra said the identification of eligible candidates will follow a well-defined, transparent and independent process to ensure fairness and credibility.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Vinod Sahay, President – Trucks, Buses & Construction Equipment and Member of the Group Executive Board, said the initiative goes beyond financial assistance. He noted that through Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyan, the company aims to open doors to brighter futures for young girls, nurture hope and empower them to become meaningful contributors to their communities and the broader economy.

Echoing similar views, Mr. Venkat Srinivas, Business Head – Trucks, Buses & Construction Equipment, Mahindra Group, said the sustained commitment to the programme reflects Mahindra’s belief in creating equal opportunities and motivating the next generation. He added that investing in the education of truck drivers’ daughters is a step towards building a stronger and more equitable society where young girls are encouraged to realise their full potential and emerge as future leaders.

Each selected student will receive the scholarship amount through a direct bank transfer of ₹10,000, along with a certificate recognising her achievement. Mahindra Truck and Bus leadership will felicitate the 1,000 scholarship recipients at select locations across India between February and March 2026.
