Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO ZNG, its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company says the compact SUV aims to give buyers CNG running costs without giving up performance.

It uses a 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged engine that makes 82 kW and 200 Nm in both CNG and petrol modes. Mahindra says this is the best torque among CNG passenger vehicles in India, available from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The company claims a certified efficiency of 24.7 km/kg and a 0-100 km/h time of 11.8 seconds in CNG mode. The car switches automatically to petrol when the CNG runs low.
The twin-cylinder CNG system sits beneath the luggage area, which Mahindra says keeps a flat load floor and 270 litres of boot space, with the spare wheel mounted under the body. Every variant gets six airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. A gas-leak detection system can detect a leak and automatically switch the car to petrol. Even the entry variant has a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen, cruise control, rear AC vents and a 60:40 split rear seat. Higher variants add features such as twin 26.03 cm screens, a Skyroof and Dolby Atmos audio.

Prices are ₹9.99 lakh for the MX EDGE, ₹10.79 lakh for the REVX EDGE (O), ₹11.19 lakh for the AX5 and ₹12.27 lakh for the REVX A. Test drives begin on 15 October 2026. Bookings and deliveries start on 20 October.
Dr. Velusamy R, President of the Automotive Business at Mahindra & Mahindra, said the car’s promise is “Zero Compromise”, combining an SUV’s space, technology and driving experience with the low running costs of CNG. Mahindra says the regular XUV 3XO has crossed 2.5 lakh cumulative sales in under 2.5 years.
