HENN GmbH, a global leader in connector technology, made a significant impact at IAA Transportation 2024 by presenting its comprehensive product range. The company’s solutions cater to a wide spectrum of vehicles, from traditional combustion engines to modern electric and fuel-cell-powered systems.
A Global Outlook with Local Expansion
Talking exclusively to MOTORINDIA, Matthias Nicolussi, CEO of HENN GmbH, and Corina Alt, Vice President of Sales, highlighted the company’s innovative approach and its ambitions to scale globally. “We are presenting our complete product range of plastic and metal connectors, designed for applications across various engine types,” shared Matthias. These connectors address critical functions such as charge air applications, thermal management, and more, showcasing HENN’s adaptability to both legacy and emerging vehicle technologies.
The company is also expanding its footprint in India, where it sees immense potential. “Our first project in India has just started, and we have big chances there,” said Corina. “We believe our competitive and technically advanced products are perfectly suited to the market.” HENN plans to launch an assembly line in India by January 2025 and is poised to deepen its presence over time.
Diversified Market Reach
HENN’s global strategy is underpinned by its diversified operations across Europe, the US, Asia, and India. “Our business is currently very well-diversified in terms of customers and regions,” remarked Matthias. This global presence has enabled the company to navigate challenges and maintain robust demand, even for products tailored to combustion engines.
As the automotive industry transitions, HENN remains well-positioned with a product portfolio compatible with both traditional and electric powertrains. “Our metal and plastic products are independent of the engine type, making them suitable for fuel cell applications, new energy vehicles, and more,” Matthias explained.
Customer-Centric Innovation
A key differentiator for HENN is its commitment to customer collaboration. “We don’t just offer products; we provide solutions,” emphasized Matthias. “Our approach is to work closely with customers, developing products that meet their specific needs and purposes.” This customer-oriented philosophy has been pivotal in cementing HENN’s reputation as an innovative leader.
Positive Outlook for 2024 and Beyond
Reflecting on the year, Matthias described 2024 as a positive period for the company. “We are slightly above our budget expectations and have had great discussions here at the IAA booth,” he said. These interactions have opened doors to potential new business opportunities for the coming years.
The future looks equally promising, with growing demand for HENN’s solutions in emerging segments like electric vehicles. “We have a huge volume of requests for future battery cars and are looking very positively at what’s ahead,” added Corina.
Pioneering Growth in India
India’s potential as a manufacturing hub is also under consideration. While HENN evaluates using the country as a global supply base, the focus remains on balancing localization and global export needs. “We will not localize every product in each region but will ensure exports from India as part of our broader strategy,” said Corina.
