Automechanika Frankfurt 2024

FUTURUS presents innovative HUD products at Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika (EVA) 2024

Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika (EVA) 2024 will take place from 10.09.2024 to 14.09.2024 in Frankfurt/Germany. FUTURUS, a leading enterprise in the domestic HUD industry, will showcase several innovative automotive products including Light Field ARHUD, ARHUD Max, WHUD Max, and standard WHUD at booth H12.1-B66.

As a hard-tech company focusing on the research, development and application of display technologies in the automotive field, FUTURUS has always adhered to a strategy of differentiated innovation. It concentrates on vehicle display technology, dedicating itself to creating core hard-tech for HUDs. Based on first principles in design and development, FUTURUS enhances optical hardware, software algorithms, and HMI interactions comprehensively, offering the most authentic, user-friendly and high-quality HUD product experiences to automakers and end-market users.

The four products that will debut at Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika (EVA) 2024 represent the latest cutting-edge technology and the highest standard of experience in the HUD industry. They will demonstrate the latest achievements in the development of China’s smart car industry to the world, further solidifying China’s leading position in the global technological revolution of the smart car industry.

FUTURUS boasts an advanced team in optical innovation, software development, and project management. The company can achieve high-definition HUD optical designs that are clear, delicate, distortion-free, ghosting-free, and grain-free. With its proprietary AR real-time rendering engine AR Kernel®, it can deliver high frame rate, and high-performance real-time 3D rendering. Based on multi-sensor fusion algorithms and spatial motion posture capture and delay compensation algorithms, it achieves precise latency control, reduces dizziness, and ensures stable alignment of HUD displays with the real driving environment.

Up to now, FUTURUS’s HUD products have exceeded a cumulative shipment volume of 500,000 units. Its existing clients include leading OEMs such as BMW, Audi, SAIC, Li Auto, NIO, Great Wall, Geely, BYD, etc.

FUTURUS has developed the world’s first standard WHUD product that can truly replace traditional instruments. Besides displaying various instrument panel information (speed, tire pressure, fuel consumption, speed limit, warnings, etc.), it can also project navigation, assisted driving, urban NOA, and other multimedia screen information from the center console, helping drivers keep their attention on the road ahead and further enhancing driving safety. This product has been successfully installed in the Li Auto L series models.

WHUD Max is an upgrade from the standard WHUD. With the support of its proprietary PGU, it can achieve ultra-high brightness, high uniformity, and high contrast image display. Even under various extreme brightness conditions such as midday sun against the light, reflection from a white car ahead, and direct exposure to headlights at night, it still ensures clear visibility. It truly adapts to all scenarios and all weather conditions, laying a solid technical foundation for HUDs to completely replace traditional instruments.

At the same time, ARHUD utilizes augmented reality technology to directly project navigation guidance information onto the road surface. It uses virtual arrows that merge with the actual road to guide the vehicle forward, providing early indications for lane changes, turns, etc., without requiring additional thought from the driver. It also integrates with actual road conditions to offer services such as night vision systems, collision warning, lane keeping, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, pedestrian warning, obstacle warning, traffic signal monitoring, etc. Compared to WHUD, ARHUD significantly enhances the user experience during driving, providing intuitive and effortless driving guidance.

FUTURUS ARHUD Max and Light Field ARHUD, are based on the superior optical experience of WHUD. At the hardware level, they independently develop three-dimensional virtual image displays with optical depth and spatial sense, projecting ultra-high brightness, long-distance, large-screen, multiple or even continuous depth of field three-dimensional light field holographic images. At the software and algorithm level, after five years of continuous optimization and iteration of its exclusive AR real-time rendering engine AR Kernel® since its establishment in 2019, based on multi-sensor fusion algorithms and spatial motion posture capture and delay compensation algorithms, it achieves high frame rate, and high-performance real-time 3D rendering. This enables stable alignment of HUD displays with the real driving environment, offering a strong sense of space, hierarchy, distance, and guidance. Compared to single plane ordinary 2D HUD products, it achieves better AR integration effects and a more natural visual experience. Light Field ARHUD product will also be mass-produced in a strategic model of a leading new force brand in China at the beginning of 2025.

In 2023, FUTURUS captured 10.6% of the domestic HUD market share, ranking among the top three local suppliers in China. Especially in the segment above 300,000 yuan, it successfully secured 21.48% of the high-end market share, ranking first in the Chinese market. By showcasing its latest HUD products at Electric Vehicle Expo at Automechanika (EVA) 2024, FUTURUS will also push its latest HUD products to the international market, strengthen connections with the global automotive industry, and through the international application of innovative technology, provide safer and smarter driving experiences for drivers worldwide.
