BMW India Opens Pre-Orders for Limited-Edition M2 xDrive Turbo Edition

BMW India has opened pre-orders for the new M2 xDrive Turbo Edition, a limited-edition tribute to the pioneering 1973 BMW 2002 turbo. Bookings can be made at authorised BMW dealers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Finished only in Alpine White, the Turbo Edition gets hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes, a black power dome and the iconic reversed “turbo” script on the bonnet, just like the original. A carbon-fibre roof, tailgate and rear spoiler add to its sporty look, while Gold Bronze M Performance forged wheels are available as an option. Inside, it features M Carbon bucket seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel, carbon-fibre trim and a “turbo” badge on the cupholder cover.

The car is powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine producing 480 hp. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h, or 285 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.

The original BMW 2002 turbo, launched during the 1973 oil crisis, was a pioneer of turbocharging in production passenger cars, producing 170 hp and a top speed of more than 200 km/h.
