Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles marked Czech Day 2026 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, celebrating a journey that began in Prague almost a century ago.

Founded in 1929, Jawa started with the Jawa 500 OHV, followed in 1932 by the lightweight Jawa 175, which brought motorcycling to a wider audience. Over the decades, the brand became known for innovations such as the Jawa Pérák, developed during the Second World War, and an automatic clutch system.
Jawa arrived in India in 1960 through Ideal Jawa and became part of the country’s motorcycling culture, featuring in motorsports, rider communities and Indian cinema. The brand returned in 2018 with the Jawa 42, which created India’s modern classic motorcycle category. Its current Jawa All Stars range includes the Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ and Jawa 42 Bobber.
“Jawa has never been about nostalgia alone. It is about carrying its distinctive character forward for the rider of today,” said Mr. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends.
