SWITCH Mobility Ltd, a global leader in electric buses and light commercial vehicles and part of the Hinduja Group, has secured an order for 840 electric buses from Antony Road Transport Solutions under the Government of India’s PM E-Drive scheme Phase I tender.
Under the order, SWITCH will supply 9-metre and 12-metre AC electric buses under the CESL PM E-Drive Phase I tender, in which Antony Road Transport Solutions has been selected as the operator for Delhi. The order comprises 420 nine-metre and 420 twelve-metre buses, which will be deployed with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and the Transport Department, Delhi, for passenger transportation. The agreements for the deployment have been formalised between the two companies.
The order strengthens SWITCH Mobility’s presence in the public transportation segment and reinforces its commitment to cleaner, more sustainable urban mobility. The partnership aims to enable efficient passenger movement while contributing to the city’s broader sustainable mobility goals.

The buses are built on the EiV platform, which features modular battery configurations, advanced electric powertrains, regenerative braking, and dual-gun fast charging for quicker turnaround and better fleet utilisation. Passenger-focused features include spacious interiors, comfortable seating, USB charging, and low-floor access, while safety features include fire detection and suppression systems and multi-level battery protection. Powered by SWITCH iON, the buses also offer real-time vehicle monitoring, diagnostics, and fleet management capabilities.
The partnership brings together an electric mobility OEM, a fleet operator, and a public transport authority to support the electrification of public transportation at scale.
SWITCH Mobility has put over 3,000 electric buses on the road, clocking more than 200 million kilometres globally. Its SWITCH IeV Series of electric light commercial vehicles has over 3,000 units on the road, serving last-mile logistics.
