Mr. Dinesh Kumar Agarwal has been elected as the State Chairperson of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) – Tamil Nadu & Puducherry for the 2026-28 term. His appointment comes at an important time for the region’s rapidly evolving automobile retail sector.
Tamil Nadu is one of India’s key automotive markets, accounting for 7.53% of the country’s vehicle retail sales in FY 2025-26, with 23.14 lakh vehicle registrations, around 2,580 dealership outlets, and significant direct and indirect employment through the dealership ecosystem.
As State Chairperson, Mr. Agarwal will focus on strengthening the dealer fraternity, facilitating ease of doing business, regulatory coordination, digitalisation, and transparent government processes, while addressing the evolving needs of automobile retailers.
His leadership comes as Tamil Nadu continues to witness strong retail momentum. In August 2026, the state recorded 2.25 lakh vehicle retail sales, registering 33.75% year-on-year growth, according to FADA data.
The 2026-28 tenure is expected to further strengthen collaboration among dealers, OEMs, government authorities, and other stakeholders, contributing to a more sustainable and progressive automobile retail ecosystem across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
