As the global automotive industry undergoes its most profound transformation in a century, Taiwan is stepping out of its traditional role as a mere component supplier to become a central architect of future mobility. This shift was front and center at the Taiwan 360° MOBILITY Mega Shows, comprising Taipei AMPA, E-Mobility Taiwan, and Autotronics Taipei, held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

With nearly 900 exhibitors from 16 countries, the event showcased how the fusion of artificial intelligence, electrification, and connectivity is rewriting the global supply chain. Crucially, the event served as a high-level dialogue platform for forging international alliances, particularly highlighting the growing synergies between Taiwan’s tech ecosystem and India’s booming manufacturing sector.
From Component Suppliers to Strategic Co-Creators
Driven by initiatives like India’s ‘Make in India’ and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, global supply chains are rapidly restructuring. Recognizing this shift, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is actively guiding Taiwanese manufacturers to seek deep industrial alliances rather than purely transactional trade.

“We encourage Taiwanese companies to move toward strategic partnerships, such as joint ventures, by leveraging Taiwan’s mature R&D capabilities alongside India’s vast manufacturing scale. Our goal is to facilitate ‘co-creation,’ ensuring a win-win for both economies,” said Mr. James C. F. Huang, Chairman, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
While Taiwan boasts a wealth of highly innovative Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that are global leaders in technology, these companies often face significant regulatory and market entry barriers when expanding into complex markets like India. To counter this, TAITRA has positioned itself as a strategic navigator.
“While many Taiwanese SMEs are global leaders in technology, they often encounter regulatory and market entry barriers. Through our global office network and dedicated B2B matchmaking, we minimize ‘entry friction’ so companies can build lasting partnerships,” he shared.
The Era of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs)
As mobility moves away from horsepower toward computing power, vehicles are evolving into intelligent platforms. This transition to Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) requires a seamless blend of hardware reliability and software ingenuity.

“The era of ‘Software-Defined Vehicles’ presents a perfect opportunity for Taiwan and India to collaborate. We are empowering Taiwanese tech firms to transition from supplying individual components to providing Total Solutions that align perfectly with smart city initiatives,” he stated.
Show Floor Highlights: Innovation Across the Value Chain
The exhibition floor demonstrated Taiwan’s comprehensive capabilities across the mobility value chain, organized into specialized pavilions that highlighted next-generation propulsion and intelligent systems:
AI x CAR Pavilion: Showcasing the full spectrum of AI-driven mobility, this pavilion featured 12 leading Taiwanese companies. Highlights included China Motor Corporation’s mass-produced ET35 electric commercial vehicle equipped with L2 ADAS, alongside advanced autonomous driving platforms and SiC power modules from companies like Turing Drive, TECO, and Pegatron.
Taiwan Telematics Industry Pavilion: Focused on smart fleet applications and hardware-software integration. Key innovators like Advantech showcased rugged Edge AI platforms for commercial fleets, while Carota demonstrated its patented OTA update technologies. Clientron also drew attention with its Intelligent Blind Detection System (IBDS), which acts as an AI-powered digital co-driver to mitigate urban traffic risks.
Hydrogen Energy & Mobility Pavilion: Underscoring the shift toward green mobility, this zone featured a standout domestically developed hydrogen bus, jointly showcased by Hydrogen Valley Power and ITRI, which has earned both EU and UN certifications. Other applications included hydrogen fuel cell drones and portable power units.
Taiwan Electric Vehicle Industry Alliance & Foxconn: Infrastructure and complete vehicle platforms were a major focus. Fortune Electric Value (Evalue) demonstrated its comprehensive EV charging ecosystem, bridging power engineering with smart cloud management. Meanwhile, Foxconn (Hon Hai) displayed its vertical integration prowess, highlighting the BRIA and North American MODEL C platforms, in-house LFP battery cells, and advanced SiC/IGBT power modules.
Commercial Vehicle Safety: E-Lead Electronic presented a highly innovative Vehicle- Mounted Reconnaissance Drone System for large commercial vehicles. Taking off from a smart rooftop dock, the tethered drone provides drivers with an instant bird’s-eye view, drastically reducing blind-spot accidents in logistics and port operations.
A Resilient Supply Chain Driving Global Business
The 2026 Mega Shows concluded as a resounding commercial success, firmly establishing Taiwan’s competitive edge. The four-day event attracted nearly 2,500 overseas buyers and industry professionals from 90 countries. Through 815 dedicated one-on-one procurement meetings, the show is projected to generate over US$ 338 million in follow-on business opportunities.

Beyond the exhibition, the event facilitated critical industry dialogue through the 360° MOBILITY Forum, USA Day, and the Global Mobility Market Outlook. Discussions centered heavily on navigating geopolitical shifts, tariff policies, and sustainable compliance.
Amid global supply chain restructuring, Taiwan has proven that it is no longer just a participant in the automotive industry, but a foundational pillar. By seamlessly integrating its world-renowned ICT, semiconductor, and manufacturing sectors, Taiwan is actively engineering the future of global mobility.
The next edition of the 360° MOBILITY Mega Shows is scheduled to return in mid-April 2027.
