Schumak Equipment (India) Pvt. Ltd., one of the country’s most trusted names in garage equipment manufacturing, continues to deepen its presence across India and international markets. At the recent Coimbatore exhibition where the company served as the principal sponsor, A. Vijayakumar, Director, Schumak shared insights into Schumak’s journey, its expanding product portfolio, and its aggressive plans for the future.
“We have been part of more than 10–15 exhibitions across India. Auto Expo Delhi is something we participate in every year, and Auto Mechanika as well. In Coimbatore too, we take part annually and this year we are the principal sponsor. Exhibitions help us meet new customers, understand fresh requirements, and close orders right at the stall. Last year alone, we confirmed about ₹23 lakh worth of business inside the exhibition booth,” he said.
A 26-Year Journey Built on Innovation
Founded in 1999, Schumak has steadily expanded from a single-product manufacturer into a complete garage equipment solutions provider. The company started with car washing lifts, gradually adding air compressors, car washers, lubricating pumps, two-post lifts, and fully automatic car wash systems.

“Our company is 26 years old now. We began with car washing lifts and slowly added one product after another such as air compressors, car washers, lubricating pumps, two-post lifts, and automatic car wash systems. Today, our products are approved by Maruti, Mahindra and Toyota, and supplied to corporate dealers across India. The growth has been steady and completely driven by innovation and customer trust,” he stated.
Schumak’s market strength is particularly visible in South India. Tamil Nadu and Kerala account for nearly half of its domestic business.
Strong Footprint Across Dealerships
Vijayakumar highlights that the company holds a dominant position in Coimbatore, supplying equipment to top dealerships.

“In the Coimbatore market, we supply washing equipment to major Maruti dealers.
Hyundai buys only from us, and across Tamil Nadu we serve almost all Maruti dealerships. That consistency comes only from quality and service,” he stated.
Exports and Global Certifications
Schumak’s commitment to quality has earned the company CE certification, enabling exports to Europe an achievement few Indian garage equipment makers can claim. The company supplies to England, Cyprus, and a growing list of 18 countries.
“Our washing lifts carry CE approval, which is the European standard. Without CE, no product can enter European markets, but our equipment meets those requirements. This proves that Indian-made garage equipment can match global benchmarks,” he said.
Service Network: The Backbone of Customer Trust
Schumak places significant emphasis on after-sales service, a critical factor in the garage equipment industry. The company operates through a large dealer network, with engineers visiting customers every three months for preventive checks.
“Without service, no company can survive in this market. Being 26 years old, we have built a very strong service network across India through our dealers. For automatic car washes, we schedule engineer visits once in three months. We offer one year of warranty and free spare parts, and only after that do we charge for service. This is why customers come back to us,” he stated.
New Launch: Thunderstorm Automatic Car Washer
One of the most exciting developments is Schumak’s newest innovation, the ‘Thunderstorm’ Version 3 Automatic Car Washer. This advanced model comes with 100-bar pressure, built-in dryers, and the capability to wash cars up to 6 meters in length, surpassing existing Indian models.
“Our automatic car wash systems are among our best-selling products. Version 1 is a 24-bar model approved by Maruti, Mahindra, and Toyota. Version 2, with 100-bar pressure, is our fastest-moving machine. Now we have developed Version 3, the ‘Thunderstorm’, also with 100-bar pressure and inbuilt dryers. It can wash cars up to 6 meters, whereas current Indian models go only up to 4.75 meters. This new model will completely redefine the car washing segment,” he concluded.
