BYD India, the subsidiary of the world’s No. 1 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD, has announced a price increase for its popular electric SUV, the BYD SEALION 7, effective from 1 January 2026. Customers who book the vehicle on or before 31 December 2025 will continue to enjoy the current ex-showroom prices, giving buyers a final window of opportunity before the revision takes effect.
The BYD SEALION 7 is currently available in two variants: the Premium at ₹48,90,000 and the Performance at ₹54,90,000 ex-showroom. Since its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the model has quickly gained traction among Indian EV buyers, crossing 2,000 units in sales. The milestone highlights the strong demand for BYD’s fully electric Pure Performance eSUV, known for its blend of design, technology and driving capability.
Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said the response reflects growing confidence in BYD’s electric SUV portfolio. “The BYD SEALION 7 has struck a chord with customers across India. With the planned price revision from early 2026, we want to ensure that customers who have been waiting can still benefit from the current pricing till 31 December 2025. As we expand our dealer network and customer touchpoints, the SEALION 7 will remain central to our commitment to advanced, sustainable, high-performance mobility,” he said.
The SEALION 7 features BYD’s advanced iTAC (Intelligence Torque Adaption Control) and CTB (Cell to Body) architecture, integrating the Blade Battery as a structural part of the chassis to improve safety, rigidity, and cabin space. Powered by an 82.56 kWh battery, the SUV delivers strong acceleration and high efficiency across both variants.
The Performance trim generates 390 kW and 690 Nm, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and offering a claimed 542 km range (NEDC). The Premium variant delivers 230 kW and 380 Nm with 0–100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a 567 km range (NEDC). With a length of 4,830 mm and a 2,930 mm wheelbase, the SEALION 7 also offers generous interior space and balanced SUV proportions. The model carries a 5-Star NCAP safety rating, reinforcing BYD’s emphasis on safety innovation.
