After the successful launches of the TVS iQube Electric and the futuristic TVS X, TVS Motor has once again demonstrated its instinct to adapt and lead across different sub-segments of the electric two-wheeler space. Backed by the trust of over six lakh customers for its existing e2Ws, the company is now expanding its orbit with its third electric offering — the all-new TVS Orbiter.
An e-scooter designed to redefine everyday city rides, the Orbiter blends technology, comfort, and youthful style. And behind the new offering is a story of fresh thinking and relentless innovation — where over 600 young engineers and designers came together to reimagine what an everyday ride could be.
The Orbiter wasn’t built just to be another e-scooter — it was crafted with a very clear purpose: to make everyday city rides safe, smart, and effortless. In India’s buzzing streets, where traffic is unpredictable and time is always short, riders need more than just a vehicle. They need a partner that thinks ahead, protects them, and keeps them moving without stress.

Gaurav Gupta, President, India 2W Business at TVS Motor Company, summed it up stating, “Leveraging our engineering expertise and advanced capabilities, we are building products that set global benchmarks in quality, performance, and safety. With TVS Orbiter, we are expanding our EV ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India.”
What inspired the Orbiter
Life today never slows down. People are always on the move — running to classes, heading to work, meeting friends, or planning weekend trips. Their routine keeps shifting, and they need a ride that can keep up. Something quick in traffic, steady on rough roads, comfortable for long days, and ready for all the surprises a city can throw.
That’s exactly why TVS Motor built the Orbiter. As Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President – Head Commuter & EV Business and Head Corporate Brand & Media, TVS Motor Company, explained, the Orbiter was designed to understand the lives of today’s new-age riders as closely as possible, and to keep them “always on.”

Saurabh Kapoor, VP, Marketing – EV Business, TVS Motor Company, added that the goal wasn’t just to create another scooter, but to make everyday rides smoother, smarter, and a lot more fun. “That’s exactly how the TVS Orbiter was born — not just as a way to get from one place to another, but as a scooter that makes you enjoy the ride, every single time,” he said.
Blending style & comfort
For TVS Motor, the Orbiter had to be more than just another e-scooter—it had to look modern, feel premium, and ride effortlessly through the chaos of city life. As Amit Rajwade, Vice President, Design at TVS Motor Company, explained, the team focused on small details that make a big difference. For instance, matte and gloss finishes are layered carefully, textures and graphics bring a fresh, young vibe, and every curve is shaped to catch the eye of urban riders who want style with substance.
But design isn’t only about looks—it’s about how the scooter feels on the road. A big 14-inch wheel is provided in the front to smoothen out bumps, a wide handlebar to keep posture natural, and the long flat seat giving both rider and pillion plenty of room. The straight footboard and well-judged seat height could make rides feel light and easy, even in stop-and-go traffic.
Practicality hasn’t been left behind. A 34-litre boot accommodates two helmets and still has space for extras. A USB port with a handy storage box keeps the phone charged and essentials within reach. And while many still worry about range, the Orbiter puts those fears to rest with a 3.1 kWh battery that delivers 158 km on a single charge.
As Mr. Haldar put it, the Orbiter brings together everyday practicality with advanced technology, aerodynamic efficiency, and segment-first features—making it a scooter designed to keep riders always on.
Smart engineering
The company officials stated that the 158 km IDC range was made possible through smart engineering. Every detail has been tuned to stretch efficiency, from low rolling resistance tyres to a refined powertrain and a sleek aerodynamic design that cuts through the air with ease.
The Orbiter also breaks new ground with segment-first features like cruise control, hill-hold assist, and parking assist. Hill-hold is made extra accurate by placing the accelerometer near the scooter’s centre of gravity, so it can sense slopes precisely and stop it from rolling back. Cruise control, on the other hand, has been carefully designed to work even at lower speeds, letting the vehicle glide smoothly but never engaging by mistake, ensuring safety.
Underneath, the powertrain — motor, MCU, and battery — is built tough to handle India’s rough and unpredictable roads. With IP67 certification, the vehicle is ready for puddles, splashes, and sudden rain showers, making sure riders stay confident no matter what the city throws at them.
Connected and safe
The Orbiter isn’t just about getting the users from place to place — it keeps them smartly connected on every ride. Its bright LCD screen shows calls, texts, and even turn-by-turn directions, keeping them stay focused on the road. With the SmartXConnect app, riders can track the scooter’s live location, set boundaries with geo-fencing or time limits, and get instant alerts in case of a fall, crash, or theft attempt. Over-the-air updates keep the scooter fresh with the latest features, just like a smartphone.
For safety and convenience, the e-scooter also packs in a front LED headlamp with visor and app-based controls, while its aerodynamic design adds stability and range. In short, it’s not just an e-scooter — it’s a smart, safe, and reliable companion for city life.
