Tata Motors Launches All-New LPT 812, India’s First 4-Tyre Truck With 5-Tonne Payload

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has launched the all-new Tata LPT 812 in the Intermediate, Light and Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) segment.

The Tata LPT 812 is India’s first 4-tyre truck with a 5-tonne rated payload, combining the ruggedness of a 6-tyre vehicle with the agility and lower maintenance of a 4-tyre truck. Built on Tata’s proven LPT platform, it comes with factory-fitted air-conditioning and multiple load body options suited for industrial goods, market load, courier, and fresh produce.

Powered by the reliable 4SPCR diesel engine delivering 125hp and 360Nm torque, the truck is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and booster-assisted clutch for smoother shifts and reduced driver fatigue. It also features parabolic front suspension with anti-roll bar, S-Cam air brakes, radial tyres, and tilt & telescopic power steering. Safety and durability are enhanced further, while comfort is assured with a car-like ride experience. Backed by a 3-year/3 lakh km warranty, the LPT 812 assures long-term reliability and peace of mind.

With this addition, Tata Motors now offers the widest ILMCV range from 4 to 19 tonnes GVW. The portfolio is supported by Sampoorna Seva 2.0 for lifecycle management, Fleet Edge for digital fleet optimisation, and India’s largest service network with over 3,200 touchpoints—ensuring the highest uptime and lower total cost of ownership for fleet operators.

Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “The launch of the LPT 812 sets a new benchmark in customer profitability. It addresses the growing need for productivity while ensuring superior fuel efficiency, ease of operations, and maximum uptime.”
