& Middle East, Midtronics
Midtronics Inc., a global leader in advanced battery management solutions, is setting new benchmarks in sustainable, non-invasive battery diagnostics. At the recent India EV Show held in Chennai, the company demonstrated its latest suite of battery testing technologies tailored for both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) platforms – underscoring its commitment to precision, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
Representing the company at the show, Aurovindo Jati, Head – South Asia & Middle East, Midtronics, said: “Midtronics is a US-based company that has been in the battery management field for the past 41 years. We provide battery service solutions to OEMs and battery manufacturers worldwide. Our USP lies in our ability to test batteries in their natural condition, whether inside or outside the vehicle, charged or not, without drawing or injecting energy.”
Sustainable, Non-Invasive Testing Redefined
Traditional battery diagnostics often involve discharging or charging a battery to assess its condition – procedures that can reduce battery lifespan and waste energy. Midtronics, however, deploys a proprietary, non-invasive method that evaluates batteries without altering their energy levels. This technology delivers immediate insights into battery health while preserving battery integrity and supporting sustainability goals.

“When it comes to battery testing, the traditional way involves discharging or charging the battery to assess its condition. In contrast, Midtronics’ method tests the battery without altering its energy levels, which protects the battery’s lifespan and the environment. This helps the customer get an immediate result: is the battery good or not? That’s all they need to know,” explained Jati.
Midtronics Introducing world’s first AI Based Tester
MVT featuring PowerOnTM AI will reduce and/or eliminate the most pervasive barriers a service technician faces attempting a battery test.

PowerOnTM AI is an AI based diagnostic algorithm which leverages the hundreds of millions of battery test performed by connected Midtronics tools across the globe.
MVT Series is designed to increase preventative maintenance battery testing.
- Provide technicians a quick way to test batteries when faced with time consuming obstacles
- Affordable enough for a service shop to have one in every bay
- Connected to enable remote management of reventative maintenance initiatives.

Powering India’s EV Ambitions
While Midtronics continues to lead in ICE battery diagnostics, it is accelerating its presence in the EV sector, partnering with major OEMs including Hyundai, Toyota, JLR, Volvo, Mahindra, and Tata Motors. Each partnership involves developing bespoke battery testing solutions designed around the specific architecture and requirements of that OEM’s EV models.
“EV is an evolving space, and we are working very closely with leading OEMs. Each EV model needs a customized solution – what works for Toyota won’t work for Tata, and what works for Mahindra is different from Volvo. That’s why our solutions are tailored to each brand, and OEMs trust Midtronics to deliver that customization effectively.”
Strategic Collaboration with Apple Energy
Midtronics has been active in the Indian market for over 17 years, building strong relationships with nearly 90% of local automotive OEMs. A key enabler of this success is its 15-year strategic alliance with Mumbai-based Apple Energy Pvt. Ltd., a specialist in localized battery testing solutions.
“We have been working closely with Apple Energy for the last 15 years. Together, we have developed customized battery analyzers and test programs specifically suited for Indian vehicle manufacturers. These partnerships help us meet very localized needs while maintaining Midtronics’ global standards,” said Jati.
A Strategic Vision for India
With over four decades of experience, Midtronics is aligning its global innovation roadmap with India’s rapidly evolving automotive sector. The company sees India as a strategic growth market, particularly in light of the accelerating adoption of EVs in the passenger and light commercial vehicle categories.
“India is the fourth-largest auto market now, and the way the EV trend is picking up, especially in the passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle segments, it’s clear that the future is electric. Our global leadership is watching India’s growth closely. We’re excited to roll out more customized solutions designed specifically for Indian OEMs,” Jati added.
As India advances toward a cleaner and smarter mobility future, Midtronics is firmly positioned to support the transition – delivering not just diagnostic clarity, but a pathway to a more sustainable battery ecosystem
