Cam-Aligner from JOSAM Making Heavy Vehicle Alignment Smarter and Simpler

Morgan Tisbo, Business Development & OEM Manager, JOSAM

At Autopromotec 2025, JOSAM®—a leading brand under Car-O-Liner® Group AB and part of Snap-on® Equipment—showcased its latest advancements in heavy vehicle alignment technology, highlighting operator friendly features and robust design. The centerpiece of the display was the Cam-Aligner system, a versatile and portable alignment solution engineered to meet the demands of workshops worldwide.

“The Cam-Aligner is built to perform in tough environments, making it especially well-suited for markets like India, where dusty roads and varied workshop setups are common,” said Morgan Tisbo, Business Development & OEM Manager at JOSAM®. “It’s a durable, mobile system that isn’t overly sensitive to sunlight or harsh environmental factors—something essential in many developing regions.”

User-Friendly Innovation for Heavy-Duty Applications

A key upgrade to the Cam-Aligner system is its improved software interface, developed with operator usability in mind. “We’ve added a simplified navigation panel on the left side of the screen that makes it easy to return to the home page, print reports, or access manuals,” Tisbo explained. “In a busy workshop, clarity and simplicity are critical — less is truly more.”

The system also integrates Snap-on® TreadReader™ technology, initially developed in the UK and adapted for heavy-duty applications. “TreadReader™ enables technicians to perform detailed tread inspections around the vehicle, generating instant reports that feed directly into the alignment software,” Tisbo said. “This seamless integration improves workflow and ensures consistent, accurate data.”

An intuitive 3D feature within the software supports more precise adjustments and enhanced visualizations. “We’ve made sure the system is accessible even to less experienced technicians,” Tisbo added. “It’s designed for confidence and ease of use.”

Tailored Alignment Solutions for Varied Workshop Needs

JOSAM® offers two core alignment systems: the Cam Aligner, which provides, portability and flexibility, and the i-track system, optimized for high-volume alignment centers.

“With the i-track system, we developed a specialized tool that allows technicians to measure both the tractor and trailer without disconnecting them,” said Tisbo. “This capability is unique and especially valuable for large fleet service operations.”

The i-track system’s cameras are accurate up to 22 meters, enabling alignment of articulated buses and multi-axle trucks. “At a large workshop, we can measure up to 15 trucks in a single day,” said Tisbo. “For high throughput facilities, a fixed system like i-track is ideal. For smaller or more mobile operations, the Cam-Aligner remains the go-to solution.”

Global Growth and Regional Adaptation

JOSAM® has experienced steady global growth, especially across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. “Europe remains our largest market, but it’s a mature one,” Tisbo said. “Our focus is shifting toward expansion in Latin America, India, and parts of Africa. In Africa, we began in South Africa and are now seeing traction in countries like Kenya and Tanzania.”

India, in particular, is proving to be a strong opportunity. “The durability of the Cam-Aligner makes it ideal for Indian workshops,” Tisbo noted. “While the i-track system suits more controlled, high-volume environment, the Cam-Aligner can thrive even in smaller, open-air shops.” Although JOSAM® does not disclose exact annual sales figures due to the Snap-on® global distribution structure, Tisbo confirmed consistent year-over-year growth and a focused push into emerging markets.

Future-Ready Through Simplicity and Precision

A clear trend influencing JOSAM® product development is the growing need for systems that are easy to use. “It’s getting harder to find experienced technicians is becoming harder everywhere,” Tisbo  observed. “Younger generations are leaning toward less physically demanding or office-based work. Our goal is to create intuitive tools that anyone can use correctly—even with limited experience.”

Tisbo also sees industry shifts as a chance to innovate. “When the automotive industry changes — for example, with electric vehicles — it creates opportunities,” he said. “Major shifts give us room to introduce new features and stay ahead as a technology leader.”

Looking Ahead

As heavy vehicle service demands continue to evolve, the JOSAM® commitment to precision, usability, and adaptability ensures it remains a trusted partner for workshops worldwide. “We believe in empowering technicians with tools that make their jobs easier and more accurate,” Tisbo said. “That philosophy not only addresses today’s challenges but lays the foundation for continued growth and innovation.”
