The agreement, signed in May 2025, marks a significant milestone in ZF’s localisation and innovation strategy for the Indian market.
Under this contract, ZF will supply several thousand clutch units, with Start of Production (SOP) scheduled for mid-2026. The clutches will be manufactured at the company’s Chakan plant in Pune, reinforcing its commitment to local manufacturing and supporting India’s “Make in India” initiative.

Localising its production in Chakan strengthens our contribution to customers’ growth, both in domestic and export markets.”
Designed to enhance operational efficiency and driver comfort, the new clutch system features advanced lining materials offering up to 20% longer life, reduced maintenance costs, and improved reliability. The system also delivers smoother engagement, lighter pedal loads, and greater comfort for long-haul applications.
