Volkswagen India has announced the introductory price of the Tayron R-Line at ₹46.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning the new luxury SUV for Indian buyers who want a premium, performance-focused vehicle that complements their lifestyle aspirations. Blending progressive design, dynamic performance, intuitive technology and high everyday usability, the Tayron R-Line marks a significant addition to Volkswagen’s premium portfolio in India.
Unveiling the model, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said the Tayron R-Line represents the brand’s philosophy of offering aspirational premium cars that go beyond features to add meaningful value. “It is designed for those who value performance as much as luxury, and who seek a vehicle that reflects their progressive mindset. With the Tayron R-Line, we are reinforcing our commitment to bringing globally admired, performance-led products that elevate the brand’s presence in India,” he said.
The Tayron R-Line’s design identity is defined by IQ.Light HD Matrix LED headlamps, R-Line body elements, illuminated logos, and large 19-inch Coventry alloys — projecting a distinctly German, premium SUV stance. Inside, the cabin focuses on space, comfort and sophistication, featuring a panoramic sunroof, a 38.1 cm infotainment system, a 26.03 cm digital cockpit and 30-colour ambient lighting with an illuminated R insert.
The SUV also offers high levels of comfort through 12-way powered front seats with memory, heating, ventilation, lumbar support and an 8-mode massage function. Rear passengers get reclining and sliding second-row seats for added flexibility.
Safety has been prioritised with Level 2 ADAS offering 14 assistance features, along with nine airbags, electronic stability control, and hill ascent and descent control.
For tech-focused customers, the Tayron R-Line integrates three-zone climate control, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon audio system (700W), dual 45W USB-C ports, wireless charging for two devices, and an augmented-reality head-up display.
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EA888 evo4 motor producing 204 PS and 320 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Drivers can choose from six drive modes via the driving profile selector.
