TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italy-based ALA Group to jointly pursue opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding aerospace and defence sectors. The agreement establishes a strategic framework for collaboration, with an initial focus on India and potential expansion into other geographies over time.
India’s aerospace and defence market, estimated at around $28 billion, represents one of the most dynamic and high-value segments within industrial supply chains. The growth is being driven by defence modernisation, indigenisation initiatives and global supply chain realignment, creating demand for complex, compliant and mission-critical logistics and procurement solutions.
Under the MoU, TVS SCS and ALA Group will work together to deliver integrated supply chain services across both production and aftermarket lifecycles of aerospace and defence programmes. A key area of focus will be defence offset programmes, where global OEMs are required to invest and source locally in India.
TVS SCS will leverage its extensive defence and utilities supply chain experience developed through its UK operations, alongside its strong domestic footprint in India. Its capabilities include procurement, regulatory and licensing expertise, government and stakeholder engagement, warehousing and logistics infrastructure, digital platforms and local execution. The company’s aerospace, defence and utilities business currently generates around $140 million in annual revenues, largely anchored in UK defence and utility programmes.
ALA Group, which reported revenues of $345 million in 2024, brings more than 35 years of specialised aerospace and defence supply chain expertise. Headquartered in Italy, ALA supports global OEMs, MROs and operators across Europe, the US and the UK. The company manages over 200,000 SKUs and works with more than 1,500 qualified suppliers, providing certified spare-parts distribution, inventory optimisation, kitting, Direct Line Feed (DLF), consignment stock and defence-grade logistics engineering services. Its operations comply with EN 9120, EN 9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
Mr. R. Dinesh, Executive Chairman, TVS Supply Chain Solutions, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to build globally relevant capabilities in complex and regulated sectors. He noted that combining TVS SCS’ scale and digital platforms with ALA’s aerospace domain expertise would enable meaningful participation in the evolving global aerospace and defence supply chain ecosystem.
Managing Director of the company Mr. Ravi Viswanathan added that India’s aerospace and defence sectors are at an inflection point, driven by indigenisation and global supply chain shifts. The partnership, he said, creates a credible and compliant platform to support defence offset and aerospace programmes in India, with scope to explore international opportunities.
Mr. Vittorio Genna, CEO and Co-Founder of ALA Group, described the collaboration as a strong platform for sustainable growth across multiple regions, supporting both civil and defence aerospace programmes. Mr. Mauro Romano, CEO of ALA MENA, added that the partnership positions ALA as a global supply chain system integrator with strong local execution capabilities in India.
TVS SCS brings proven defence credentials, managing approximately 250,000 NATO Stock Numbers and fulfilling around 2.5 million defence demands annually through a global supplier base of more than 5,000 vendors. Its defence operations span land, sea and air platforms and are supported by digitally enabled systems to enhance visibility, resilience and operational readiness.
Together, the two companies aim to offer end-to-end aerospace and defence supply chain solutions spanning production support, spare parts distribution, inventory optimisation, logistics engineering, MRO support and digitally enabled lifecycle management.
With India consistently ranking among the top global defence spenders and emerging as a major aviation growth market, the partnership positions TVS SCS and ALA Group to play a strategic role in building resilient, compliant and scalable aerospace and defence supply chains for the future.
