Toyota Kirloskar Motor Launches New Generation Hilux Starting at ₹31.99 Lakh

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the ninth-generation Hilux in India, strengthening its SUV portfolio with a vehicle that combines rugged off-road capability with urban practicality and premium comfort. The new Hilux is available in three variants — 4X2 GX AT at ₹31,99,000, 4X4 GX AT at ₹33,69,000, and 4X4 VX AT at ₹36,69,000, all ex-showroom.

Mr. Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the all-new Hilux further strengthens the company’s direction of bringing Toyota’s proven durability, capability, and dependability to customers who seek a vehicle that is both powerful and trusted, guided by the vision of Mobility for All.

Mr. Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, said the new Hilux is tougher, smarter, and more expressive, combining bold design and powerful performance and representing the growing convergence of utility and lifestyle as Indian customers increasingly look for vehicles that support diverse lifestyles, professional needs, and new experiences.

The new Hilux is built on the IMV platform and is powered by a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 150 kW and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and an 80-litre fuel tank for long-distance endurance. The legendary 4×4 capability features High and Low range four-wheel drive, Electronic Differential Lock, and Downhill Assist Control for confident off-road performance. Suspension is comfort-tuned with double wishbone front and leaf spring rear setup.

The exterior is designed under the Tough and Agile concept, inspired by the Cyber Sumo theme, with a bold new front bumper with piano black accents, LED headlamps with welcome function, LED fog lamps, and aerodynamic stabilising fins. Six exterior colours are offered, including the newly introduced Sulphur Metallic and Ash.

Inside, the cabin features soft-touch upholstery with metallic accents, a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota’s i-Connect connected car features, an eight-speaker audio system, wireless charging, cruise control, PM2.5 air filtration, Smart Entry with Push Start/Stop, and multiple drive modes — Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Safety is comprehensive, with seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Brake Assist, a panoramic view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS, ISOFIX child restraint anchorages, and an impact-absorbing GOA body structure.

Mr. Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales, Service, and Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the Tough and Agile design concept, the 2.8-litre engine, hallmark 4WD capability, advanced connected technologies, and comprehensive safety features with seven airbags will ensure the new Hilux continues to uphold its unchanged promise of serving generations.
